Gridders for PSP
If you know PSP gridders that aren't listed here, please make a post.

All games below have turn-based combat and are from Japan.

Class of Heroes 1-2
You could call these Wizardry games with an anime skin. They can be pretty obtuse to get into, unless you're already familiar with Wizardry. The first CoH didn't get a lot of praise, but the second is generally agreed to belong to the not-bad category. Rumor has it that the third is even better, and surprisingly enough still getting a Western release.

Elminage: Original
Just like the game above, it's a straight-out Wizardry clone. Unlike the game above, it's definitely not colorful anime. If you have ever played the old Wizardry games, you'll feel right at home. If you haven't, you'll probably feel lost because the game doesn't explain things nearly as much as it should. A visit to GameFAQs is almost mandatory for some newbie tips. If you can manage these hurdles, you'll find a game that's tough but fair and lots of interesting areas to explore. This is my personal favorite gridder on any handheld and it's well worth the effort.

Unchained Blades
A digital-only release that has it's share of fans. And that's all I'm going to tell you because that is all I know.

Persona
This is a remake of a game from the PS1 era. It's most likely not all that interesting for anyone but those who want to experience the roots of the Persona series.

Thanks for this list! I've picked up Class of Heroes 1 and 2, but can only find Japanese imports of Eliminage. Was it ever released in the US? The link to jp.playstation doesn't seem to have it in English, Amazon only has Asian discs, and PSN in the US doesn't even recognize the title. I'd really like to get hold of a copy, as I'm a collector, and somehow missed this release. https://www.playstation.com/en-us/search/?q=eliminage

EDIT to ADD: Oops..I had the name of the game wrong! Found the download[www.playstation.com] at the US sony site, but still can't find the hard disc, which I'd rather have.

The physical disc release was extremely limted, I believe 500 copies, sold only through Ghostlight online store. It was a pretty fancy release though, it came with a color monster art book, art cards and a numbered proof of purchase.

My copy is number 15. ;)

Bummer (for me; congrats to you!). If you ever want to sell that, drop me a line. :)

Woooaaah! O_O; Not that my copy is worth anything, it's been opened and played and cuddled. <3 Possibly even kissed. I love my Elminage.

It turns out you really can shoot coffee out of your nose when you laugh! Who knew?

Sorry about that, sounds painful. :-(

All PSP only, all in Japanese

>Class of Heroes 3 (Coming soon to NA)
>Class of Heroes Final
---Main/Sub job combinations done well. Grindy in an acceptable level. Pacing is alright. There's one after this (NEO Class of Heroes) but that one was a 3D map roam with reduced features... Just replay these two instead.

>Students of Round
http://www.jp.playstation.com/software/title/uljs00593.html
---Straight JapWiz with story. Sort of an in-between from OldWiz to NewWiz, but don't feel as soulless as Elminage. High-Fantasy Traditionalist in style and story.

>To Heart 2 Dungeon Travellers for PSP (Also a Vita version, as well as the already available Dungeon Travellers 2. PG... Probably?)
http://www.jp.playstation.com/software/title/uljm06267.html
---Lots to do but doesn't feel like it matters? Grindfeast but dull. Panties-Lovers oriented.

>Lost Heroes
http://www.jp.playstation.com/software/title/uljs00489.html
---Gundam/Ultraman/Kamen Rider SD-Crossover Dungeon RPG. (It's a thing over there. :conwayshrug: ) Playable, betterif you're into the characters.

>Persona 2 Innocent Sin
---It's Persona, and available in English too. The story is better than P1, but you guys are only getting half of it since...

>Persona 2 Eternal Punishment
http://www.jp.playstation.com/software/title/jp0005npjh50581_00persona2xpsp2012.html
---...The Next Half of it never made it across the ocean in PSP form. There was a PS version, but I kinda doubt most people even knew about it (whereas Innoccent Sin didn't get a NA PSN release... WTF Altus? :steamfacepalm: ) While P1 formed the backbone, this was actually the game that defined the tone of the Persona series seperated from SMT-main.

>Story of the Final Promise
http://www.jp.playstation.com/software/title/jp0150npjh50416_00fps1000011112222.html
---"Dungeon" Exploration in being the last defenders of a defeated kingdom, when you're trying to save those who could be saved instead of winning, and anyone who fell in battle would be lost permanently a la FE style... Tried to be different, but wasn't that well received at the time AFAIR?

That's the few I can remember right now.
