Travel Riddles: Trip to India

For the points achievement the hardest of this game's achs, I got it in under 4 hrs of grinding did it mostly on level 2. As that level has a really generous timer for 3 stars, very easy so lots of points with mega combinations, keep making points until just before timer reaches 3 stars. It's not about how quickly you do a level but how many points you get with combos etc, earns more points I found.

Tower of Wishes

Check you get the steam ach for matches achievement when you get the in-game ach. If not you need to start new profile, make sure in-game achievements are wiped and start again.
Once you finish the game, level select appears. You can select last level play it and get the 'played game twice' achievement. This achievement may require you starting new game when asked and it should pop when you start level 0 again. Like the first tower game you can play this on relaxed and still get all achievements.

Gems of magic: Father's Day

There are 3 achievements which you need to get on limited moves mode. You cannot change modes once you start playing. They are
- Last chance - luck based I got it on level 6 (win on last turn)
- More than half the moves- It didn't register on level 1, got it level 3 (win with LESS than half moves allowed) try it a few times if not registering.
-Level failed

So once you got above achievements you could restart again in relaxed mode.

You can get stars on relaxed mode, you only need to do 6 levels with 3 stars.

Broken achievement is - play for 1 hour. The other 2 time based achievements are working. In gems of magic lost family you lost your achievements if you re-entered a game, I didn't play this in one sitting so this doesn't have the same problem as that game.

It's an objective based level, different objectives - usually score. The boxes that spread are turn based, if you clear them away first (if playing relaxed) then you won't get any more. The plain sand tiles, you can see what is under it if you click on icon beside it and try and swap it, as well as powerups if you make a match under it, they will disappear. Every level the dad is a box that appears in bottom row you will have to move that to top by matching icons immediately above him. Some levels the traditional move items to bottom are also there.

Timing element

There is an option to play limited moves or relaxed which you can't change once started but there are multiple profiles. The limited moves while most levels are that, there are also 11 levels that are timed. One of the powerups you can 'buy' in level and as much as you want until you run out of gold, is an extender either extending time or moves.
You can replay levels to grind for gold if needed to buy powerups, if not playing on relaxed.

Gems of Magic: Lost Family

ACHIEVEMENTS
I didn't think a developer or game could wipe steam achievements once you had acquired them, I was wrong. The problem isn't when you leave the game but once you enter the game again, any achievement previously gotten is wiped. Your game progress is saved.

Finishing the game on my original profile I did get all of the other achievements* I had previously gotten again, including the time related ones. *The only ones I couldn't get were the previously gotten story related achievements (trying an earlier level that I had already had the story achievement, didn't work, it is possible I got the wrong level.) But trying a new profile and playing again I got all the story achs I had previously gotten again.

TIME - achievements - You would have had to stay in the game for 3+ hours for the 'play for a certain amount of time achievements to pop. The time seems to only count when you are in a level, not time in the level map.

You don't need 3 stars on all levels. The amount of stars you get you use to buy your powerups. You don't need to buy all upgrades, just one of each type for an ach.

Very different to Father's day, no item going upwards or downwards on a board. There you could play relaxed, here there is no choice but no timers, father's day did have some timed levels. Father's day you didn't have to wait for powerups to become active again, here you do. I think all boards (as some boards were ) are not random, it was the same set color/set out of tiles even if you replayed it.

It's one of those games that is a lot harder at the beginning, when you haven't bought anything from the shop but at the end when you've bought everything you can blast through levels using powerups so a lot quicker and easier later.

I liked that it was different from Father's day and not an asset flip, if they removed the animation for cascading which can go on for ages, and fixed the achievements so they are saved then I'd recommend it as I was enjoying most of it. Shorter than Father's day.

Cave Quest 2

As I read some inaccurate info regarding mastery I thought I'd do a (long) explanation about it and maybe a couple of other achs and info.

100% INFO

- For the monster and spider achs I got this on my 3rd playthrough as the count is accumulative. You will need to do at least 3 playthoughs anyway for the mastery etc achievements.

- Although you can change type (timed/ ltd moves) or hardness throughout, changing near the end of the game will not give you the other ach. i.e you won't get the 'play on hard' or on timed/ ltd moves ach if you mostly played the opposite.

- Changing modes from normal to hard near end will not help you get the mastery ach for the other type. If you are on 100% for normal then changing to hard only gives you 67% on hard (not enough to get the hardness mastery ach)

-You can save scum (save your own playthrough files and keep them and replace them if you lose a M3) to keep your high percentage for mastery.

MASTERY

- Mastery is ONLY about completing a M3 on your first attempt.

- ' Experience ' is nothing to do with the mastery achievement. It does not matter if you have a lot of time/ltd moves left over it will not affect your % score. Or how brilliantly you think you have done a level.

- You can use your "pink heart" euphoria or purple mana fill in fights if you have any and will still keep your % it doesn't matter and if there is any left over at end of game it does not get added to your % so you might as well use them up.

- At the beginning you will have a low % (finishing 1st attempt on hard in 1st puzzle will only get you 60%) but every puzzle you get on 1st attempt afterward will up your score by 5% until 100%. But if you get any wrong in the beginning ie 3rd puzzle you will go down by 15%.

- How much you go up or down re % will depend on your overall 1st attempt rate. Later if you have done a ton of 1st attempts you will only go down by 3% but you can go down by 20% if you haven't gotten many. Then it can be 1% rise every M3 you get first time but sometimes you can be on the same % for 2-3 puzzles you have done first time. Even with loads of time/ltd moves left over.

There are 2 'hardness' choices - one is to do with adventure and one is to do with how you play M3 - choice of timed or ltd moves and how hard you want it. You can play easy on adv and still get the normal/hard achs for mastery as it's about choosing the hardness for the M3 and not about the adv side.

In main menu where all new profiles in games are, there is an option to restart under your profile. I think that only works if you are in the middle of the game, as it was greyed out when I finished a game. Just clicking play there did restart a game. RE leaderboards it doesn't matter what you put as your profile as it must go with what steam account you are on. As my profile name was different to 'gingergal' but in leaderboard it just has gingergal.

Match 3 Pirates 2

Overall - so buggy and glitchy. No level map but after 100 Levels it goes to level 1 and you keep any money so you can get enough money to 'finish' game.

In Jan 2022 they updated the game "updated the difficulty in all stages". The difference between easy and hard is ridiculous as they haven't even bothered updating the level objectives in some levels as to what is required in hard - basically get everything regardless of what it says (all chests etc). So easy is now even easier (trivial) and hard is very hard.

100%

- Playing on hard does NOT unlock the other 2 hardness achievements - easy and medium.

- You don't even get those achievements when you finish the 100 levels. You have to build the park first (buy everything, which I think costs over 3 million.) Playing on hard took 3 full playthroughs to get enough money to do this (but I did spend some money on upgrades)

- You have to have the 1 million coins in bank for an achievement, if you spend any it won't count.

Gems of Destiny: Homeless Dwarfs
edit -
Playthrough 2-

-They fixed the whirlwind powerup it now will only do 3 random lava/wooden (certain clear) tiles.

-Can't get the story ending by level 72, not using the coin powerup I got it on level 24 of second playthrough.

-Still quite easy in hard mode apart from the same levels I was grinding at in first playthrough I was still grinding a lot on 2nd playthrough but apart from those 2/3 lvls the others were mostly gotten on first attempt at most second.

Still broken achievement - finish on hard.

Playthrough 1 -

As they have to fix some of the following this isn't going to be that helpful but as of writing correct.

Graphics
- In the levels it's fuzzy beyond poor resolution

Broken achievement (play on hard)

It's night and day compared to playing on hard in Match 3 Pirates 2. I got all upgrades by level 72/73 (finished the story) so unlike Pirates 2 you don't have to play this multiple times. I got all upgrades in about 2 hrs.

A lot of levels (ones with clear tiles or wooden tiles) if you click on the hurricane powerup you will win the level with one click of the powerup at the beginning. A LOT of levels are like that, they will have to fix this.

There were about 2 levels I was grinding hours at, level 85 (like pirates 2 seems to be my nemesis) but the next level it's over in one click. While 99% of levels are super easy it does go the other way on a couple and that's what takes the time.

PROS
- At least if they fix the broken achievement it looks like you can 100% in one playthrough
- Powerups you choose at beginning at level are free although you only get 1 use of them per level if you fail you can get them again
- I didn't get any glitches

I just hope they don't do with this what they did to pirates 2 in tweaking the hardness they go too far the other way, but at least for achievement purposes it's a lot better.

Artifacting

I knew this would be one of those 'cheap, quick 100%' type games. But what is annoying with this one for not much more effort it could actually be a passable OK waste of time type (in a good way) M3 which is what I was hoping for. It has a lvl map, no choice of modes, no powerups by making even 5/6 matches which I don't mind that much here. There is a target of points which is to do with your matches, higher number in a match more points, or mutiple '3' in one move. There is no timers and points is nothing to do with speed. (good)

Problems or improvements needed

- Make a plain background with depth to it by using subtle different shades instead of a plain black background it takes less than 10 mins to do and is free

- Detect that there is no possible moves and use an auto shuffle WITHOUT using up a move

- Make it at least 50 lvls

- Make more lvls possible to get M4 or more matches than the straight lines type or 9 squares in a box as it is heavily reliant on the player to use the shuffle button multiple times in a level sometimes.

The snow fable: mystery of the flame

100% Easy

- No timers anywhere

- Can play adventure/story side on relaxed, no limited moves. Finish tutorial to get the unlimited moves option. There are sparkles to show you where to put icon at end of lvl.

- Play 4 trials, 8 levels in each. The 1st trial is a straight limited moves M3. You don't need the equivalent of 3 stars on each lvl (points stay in a lvl longer) just finish it. There is one more trial that is limited moves but that is easy esp once you work out what the swap tile picture is then redo it if needed for generous amount of moves given. Trials are easy once you understand the given rules in tutorial ie the lines you only need 1 correct color token on a line to make it disappear. These aren't standard M3 but different M3 puzzles.

- There is infinity mode to get all the powerup ach which is the most boring achs given the animation is so slow.

- Redo 1 lvl for gold tokens which are the arrows in a lvl you drop to bottom

General

I would give this a full positive review as I loved the trials (apart from the 1st one which was boring.) I liked the drag item onto screen at the end on the adv area. But the painfully slow animation of the powerups which was even slower than the onboard animation let it down. There was also a glitch at the end where you had to drag the last icon onto the ghost, I tried twice but there was no hotspot letting me drag it. So I never got the ending of the game (you get the ach before this so can still 100%.)

I haven't played the 1st one and I hadn't a clue what was going on re story, but as I don't play M3 for story I vaguely got the gist. There is a replayable lvl map in the adventure/story book. And replayable trials which are M3 puzzles, a couple of these I loved and would have loved a whole game on some of these. The main menu area was a lovely quality.

I highly recommend this game for children and people with poor eyesight, as well as some elderly. I'm a big supporter of games for elderly to keep the dexterity as well as something to do and have fun together when you visit someone in a home. The icons are very big, you can also click on one icon then click on the direction you want it to go, this helps with making it playable for children and the group of people I mentioned. As it's an unusual slow paced/movement all around it's one of the few M3s that these people could maybe play. With no timers anywhere and being able to play the adv side unlimited moves it appeals to a wider than normal audience.

Christmas puzzles 2
Notus Games ltd

I think the others in this series you have to play on timed to 100% but this doesn't have the star achievement. I haven't played the first game (or any other) in this series but most achievements were given when I entered the game and clicked on a completed level. I have played 'the riddle' series by this Dev so they must have used the same save game location.

I had to create a new profile (in game) to be able to play game properly (some levels appeared completed but only a select few not all of them.) On untimed there isn't a grind like the riddle series to get the powerups, you just have to wait and you will get the 2 available powerups but it does take a while. That bit I could have done without. It has a nice main area where you buy decorative things for your Christmas themed room. There is a level map. No story or anything. But going on fun factor, xmas theme, nice graphics and gameplay I recommend despite the glitch with achs and waiting for powerups, also being taken to decorative area after every level although you can't buy stuff after every level. I enjoyed more than the riddle series.

Christmas Puzzles 3

While I enjoyed this one more than the 2nd, there were a couple of issues. No level map. As this is a timed/ltd moves (no option for anything else) and you need more powerups sometimes than the level gives you through matches, I wanted to grind out in a previous level to get me enough powerups to get me through some later ones. So I couldn't. In one level (111) I just couldn't get through it as I had no gems (given for completing levels) left. When I kept restarting the level I noticed that my progress on the time for my powerups kept vanishing. HINT - So exit a level if you are waiting for a timer on a powerup then when entering it will have saved it, thus being able, however slowly, get a powerup needed to do a level.

With 150 lvls this must have used the template for the free to play Christmas M3 as it still has the 'buy gems' page, although I dont think it works, it should have been removed.

As with the 2nd game I had to create another profile, as it had me at lvl 81 upon startup, although no achs popped with this one.

I surprisingly sailed the first 90ish lvls before encountering the timer (meaning having to do it again). Lvl 111 was the hardest for me but it's not until the above that I needed the powerups as in buying (free) from 'shop'. (click options in level or powerups). I could count on one hand I needed to replay. But still for people that can't move fast this one I'd avoid. It's a pass or fail no stars.

MatchR: Now Hiring

100%

OVERVIEW
Apart from all the individual characters achs, for the rest of the achs the easiest way to get them is playing as Susie (blue character) with original (number 1 choice) trait and upgrading the starting skill (sob story) to max (x) as quickly as possible through the donut in the break room (click and drag onto skill.) Doing all what is described you can ignore any other skills ('depression skill' which is nice to have but mostly never used it on a run.) even health as you won't need it. You can click on the sob story as many times as you want on your turn as long as there is at least 5 blue manna. This creates a waterfall affect and will fill up your manna meter as well as doing damage.

If it stops, with the jokers, there is usually a M4 on board you can do. But you should be mainly clicking on 'sob story' as it's quicker than doing all the M4 manually and turn won't be over if you only get a M3 clicking on sob story. Doing this by turn 2 (3 at max if unlucky) you should have ended your opponent. Depression skill is a double edged sword as it can give your opponent a long run although usually is helpful.

Following screenshot should be your stickers (at least the +speciality orbs, jokers). Be careful getting rid of duplicate or even 'big' size stickers as the number on them can be different, my small blueberry only gave me 1 starting sad orb but original size was 4.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2999575341

The character traits you can buy in break room and offered, 2 priorities are - can't be stunned or frozen, and 20 gauge manna. Jokers ones are good as well.

By the end with the stickers I was invincible, never needing to worry about health and got xp quickly (by low 60s I got all my stickers.) It may make the game even trivial but with the grind for the last sticker/s at least made it doable.

Depends on the bonus quests, but it's still easy doing above getting the achievement for doing all quests but add in a 'sugar rush'/health and you can still use this and multiple sob story in one turn. If you have 20 manna gauge trait, you can use this back to sob story then repeat multiple times in one turn.

ACHIEVEMENTS

- 'Moustache' has to be on his upper lip on the mathomet sticker or it won't work.

- make a match with 6 orbs you don't do manually, have to wait for the waterfall effect of orbs falling to get it auto as "T" matches don't count. Doing the above you will get it, use depression skill as well if needed.

- for the all secrets ach this link (to forum discussion) gives answer https://steamcommunity.com/app/2016280/discussions/0/3833171785699579762/

Persha and the Magic Labyrinth -Arabian Nyaights

GENERAL
Excellent unique take on match 3 but there is no saving (leaving game) once you start on a tower (which is 10 levels). In the beginning this isn't a problem but it does require 30 mins? at a time. There are English subtitles and while mostly good there are odd jarring translations. I also had to play on mute as there are voiceovers but not English and the comments were frequent.

If those two things aren't a problem then I highly recommend this fun well made game,

After you finish the game once (6 towers) you play it again, but this time it's harder and you can't repurchase cats you already bought. As the requirements for the cats (powerups once used they are gone) are different it does feel different from the first playthrough.

It's only limited moves when you choose it to be, once you match a certain amount of keys the 'boss' is released and with it two things happen - 1] coins are released, these coins are what you need to get your rankings in your towers, your score. 2] limited moves start. But what is good about this you can use as many turns as you want before you trigger this, to store up on on globes (what you need to purchase your cats) and do your requirements to be able to get your cat in a level.

There is nothing timed in a level, but on the second run a couple of cats do require you to do something within a minute. But as you don't need any cats in the second playthrough it's optional to do so.

Once you complete a tower you can either choose to replay it to get a better score or play the next tower.

If you run out of lives you die but 2-3 times you are given the opportunity to get back to full health and play on the penalty though your score (coins) is wiped. If you do permanently die you only need to replay the tower you are on, not start at tower 1 again.

TIPS
-Go into "config" in main page as there is a page with the tile icons explained there. I didn't and seriously (head banging against wall) I played most of the game without understanding what the points were and didn't know about the wall tiles, and had to replay most! So although there is a basic tutorial do look at that page.

- As you will be replaying each/most towers twice, the quickest way I recommend is go for the cats/powerups first. Some are hard to do and you can use the revive just to get you through to the end. Then for the second run you can purchase { with globes} the cat and the coins. Some of the later towers require you to keep certain cats to unlock others, this way you also know what the requirements will be and which levels are best to use what cats on.

You can't keep cats between towers so use them up.

100%
- Need to purchase all 60 cats in first playthough then play tower 6 for the 'true ending.' ach.
- "b" side achs are the second playthrough. You do not need to purchase any cats and some requirements aren't worth doing to get some. All you need to do is get max score "S" on all towers.

Spooky Dwellers CE
DEV - IKI Games

100%

-Can 100% on relaxed.
- There are 10/12 levels of a slingshot game where you must hit all coins.
- There are also match 2, and hidden object scenes, very few 'guess if card number will be higher/lower than the last', to complete. There are hints and I think skips but you can't use skips for those achievements.
- Gold cups on all levels - Get rid of ALL pumpkins first then the objectives/spooky creature.

This developer has a dragonscale game that the achievements aren't implemented, this game they are, and I have 100% this which is easy on relaxed.

Can replay any level at any time, and change hardness anytime. To access level map it's in the level. It's sort of awkward navigating as the main menu doesn't have anything on it.
Some of the levels are nice as it's quite strategic working it out what order to do things in.

But with 150 levels in total, there wasn't quite enough variety of type of levels to keep me playing marathon runs. But I did like that the powerups you make on board you had a choice of what type you wanted to use, and some of them you didn't have to use them in that area but take it and use it where ever you wanted, that was good and quite unique.

The graphics on match 3 was good, the 'buy decorative things for terrace' was disappointing both in how much items were available and how it looked at the end, but that isn't a big thing.

The navigation around things, could have been made simpler that was the biggest thing for me. But there was a nice break-up of M3 levels with some HOS and other mini-games. The choice of powerups was nice, as well as some strategic (more so than usual) levels. It's overpriced so I suggest waiting for a GOOD sale.

N.B Some halloween games are very kid/cute, this is, on the M3 levels, but some dark/scary images on the HOS and theme, make it more of a spooky adultish/older kids game.

Story of Animal Sprite

OVERVIEW
Good sandbox relaxing mindless game as it's a rare buy merge game and not a FTP game so it is truly relaxing and can do marathon sessions as well. I got it 50% off which I recommend. N.B the developer's made the choice of not having green trees around land that can't be unlocked in gameplay making it seem, either you could unlock all land (you can't) or that there will be further updates to it but there hasn't been for months.

I got most achievements by 40hrs but the last 10 - 20 achievements are a pure grind as you might expect. So following is 'learn from my mistakes/ignorance' to not be as long as it took me to 100%.

DON'T

- Pile up bubbles you don't want as it's quicker than popping and deleting items in them. This will eventually lead to a
bubble full
notice where you won't be able to merge anything (why the two are connected I don't know.) I got the game to work again by going through bubbles deleting them but someone in the forum this didn't work for and can't play on, so delete things you don't want as you go along.

-Primarily use the 'windfall' cannon, to get the items to merge to highest level - maple trees, cherry trees, wheat fields, and snowman. [DO] As soon as you get the specific animal related to these items (frog, squirrel, swallow, penguin) then under observation post area use these specific animals to get their points up for this area. You get more of those animals by keep merging items those trees/fields give.

Then use the observation only for these specific areas (plowed field, maple looking tree, cherry colored icon, igloos) as you skip so many levels of merging by doing it this way and will eventually get quite far along items.
this will save you many many hours, I only figured out at the end of going for these items that there were those areas in the observation area and I did most of it by windfall so save yourself tens of hours, as by the end I did it so quickly by using observation tower.)

DO

- Concentrate on getting and upgrading the food/drink machines up first although everything they make you do is a balance between items, make this the first, slightly before stones/wood.

- Upgrade the spirit tree as soon as possible then you can merge 5 into 2 with animals. It's quicker merging through the tree and all the possible 5-2 animals will be on the bottom of first page, no need to gather all the same animals icons together on tiles.

- Always have the boats going - the items they want will always be the same so make sure to upgrade your mushrooms bench to the required mushroom quickly. The boats will occasionally give you great items and on top of that when you upgrade boats they give great high end machines for different areas.

- Get the wheat field highest merge before doing the purifying light greenhouse highest merge, as it gives you 1 top greenhouse to save you time doing those merges.

- Do be patient, it may be tempting after many hours to just merge 3 into 1 especially near the high end, but it will just make it longer. Do wait and only merge 5 into 2 unless of course it's the highest level of merge.

- Do claim everything (all those achievements) from the brown journal you get those items you see and some of those are high end items for other areas.

general -
-To get the 10 million purfying light achievement, there isn't enough land alone for you to get this from you will need to grind using auto animals on high end greenhouse but at the end I got it quickly although it looks like it is going into thin air, it does count.

- Points and upgrade areas and some odd achievements only pop when you go back into the game.
