PINNED: Game Keys Sharing Thread
I've updated the thread to suggest concealing keys.

With that said, we won't enforce a rule to do so - in the end, how the owner of the key(s) want to give them away is up to them alone. I think people don't typically want to spend time dealing with concealing keys before posting them here (otherwise wouldn't it make more sense to create giveaways on Steamgifts and such?), and we should respect their choice and appreciate their generosity regardless of the consequences caused by the way in which the keys were posted.

I can understand the frustration, but keep in mind that people giving away keys here don't owe you anything, and even if the keys goes to bots... in the end, that's their choice. If they wouldn't want that to happen, they would have certainly taken steps to prevent it.

Claimed a key from the current giveaway (see announcements) while testing to write the instructions, but already own it on Steam. I'd hate to see it go to waste.

You know this is an urban legend, right?
They aren't as uncommon as you'd expect. While bots specifically may be less common, I know for a fact that claiming keys quickly is *extremely* easy with ASF - you can pretty much just copy and paste key lists in a single, simple command to try all keys almost instantly.

That aside, bots are quite common - if it can be done, you can expect some people to have done it. It is generally best practice to mask keys with quick "bot gates" type puzzles/riddles if you prefer your keys to go to someone who at least bothers claiming keys manually.

With that said, in the end it is ultimately up to the poster's choice whether or not they want to bother with bots/automation-prevention or not.
