Can not purchase game
"Your purchase could not be completed because it looks like you already own one of the games you are trying to buy. Please check your account and your cart to verify you are buying an item you do not already own."

May partner and I are in the family sharing beta and are testing sharing between our 2 computers. I saw a game he was playing and decided to buy it. When trying purchase it I received the above message.

Any tips on how to buy a game that is in the shared list? Has anyone done this successfully yet?

Update - could not buy game for myself but someone purchasing it as gift for me worked
Same here but I'm not having someone else buy it for me. I just can't buy the damn game.:medicon:
Btw, at first I was able to see the purchase for myself or buy as gift, then after going to the next page I get the

Your purchase could not be completed because it looks like you already own one of the games you are trying to buy. Please check your account and your cart to verify you are buying an item you do not already own.

and it says I need to select payment method at the same time. If I select something from the dropdown menu it goes away but if I click continue it refreshes and shows that information.

ALSO I am trying to do this on the website now and it is not possilbe. Wtf? The website is even saying that I have it when I don't however my fiance's account does.
Ran in the same issue just now. It's certainly related to family sharing.

I would try to deauthorize the machine then buy the game and then reauthorize it to start sharing again.
I ended up doing that but it's not a proper solution to access my bros computer with TeamViewer every time (he doesn't live close by)

I had the same problem too. Deauthorizing does work though....a good temporary fix I guess.

This is a common issue, but is easy to work around, and there are several ways to do it, you can deauthorize the device and try buying, you can also try buying it and save it on your inventory and then activating it on your library later
