Unable to Authorize Device for Family Sharing

ISSUE
An error message appears when I click on "Manage Family Sharing & Devices", the error is "Failed to get Authorized Devices (Access Denied)"

I am a Steamworks Developer, if that has any bearing on it, Maybe disabled to stop unreleased games being shared?

OS
Windows 7 - 64 Bit

STEPS
Select VIEW from the main menu
Select SETTING
Select MANAGE FAMILY SHARING & DEVICES

RESULTS
Two dialogs appear one with an error message "Failed to get Authorized Devices (Access Denied)", and the other with an empty list of Authorised Devices, with a disabled "Authorize Device"

EXPECTED
The ability to authorize a device for family sharing, excluding unreleased steam titles.

I have the same problem but with Failed to get Authorized Devices (no connection) and that's so strange because in fact i have internet...

I had this issue when I attempted to authorize a computer that wasn't using the Steam Beta client, opt into the latest Steam Client beta (Settings>Account>Beta Participation), restart Steam, and that should fix it for you.

I had this issue when I attempted to authorize a computer that wasn't using the Steam Beta client, opt into the latest Steam Client beta (Settings>Account>Beta Participation), restart Steam, and that should fix it for you.

Fixed it but not that way, thanks anyway for your time. My friend's settings were "Don't connect automatically to the chat", so when i used his account to authorize my computer, "i wasn't online" technically. The solution? Connect to the chat, try again, and authorize device.

Now both we enjoy the sharing beta, it's awesome :D
