Locked out of account Due to family options. I know my pin number.
Issue:
I've been locked out of my steam settings. Due to an error in the system were it believes i'm inputting the wrong pin number. i have my pin written next to me. and written in my phone.

OS:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Steps:
- Click family sharing options
- Enter pin
- Look at alert box telling me "Nice try, please enter correct PIN"

Result:
I am unable to access any of the settings on my account. Can't disable family view.


Expected:
The family sharing options to turn off so i could access the settings on my steam account.

I'm really not sure how you wrote this if this is your main account because I'm locked out of discussions too. I made this new account just so that I could chime in and echo your exact statements.

There are people asking in outside forums for people to code them PIN generators or something because they are being ignored by Support. That makes me bet that a ton of other people are in the same boat yet do not have discussion access...which is where we are pointed to, ironically. I and many other people probably didn't bother reading THIS:

It's been 2 days here and based on the above, our accounts are going to be locked for MONTHS.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I really can't justify field testing any Steam beta stuff ever again since it's ACTUALLY THEIR POLICY to maintain a 2004 level of customer support and to totally disregard the dedicated who are willing to get their hands dirty.

Side note: VERY interested in seeing what happens when people with Steam Machines are ignored by Steam Support for days.

This is actually my main account. I've been locked out for about 2 weeks now. and all of my settings are locked. In order to actually right that post. i had to go from the steam website. i'm not completely locked out of my account atm. i can make transactions as well as edit files in games. and download my games freely. But i can't access ANY of the steam settings for steam.exe

I also recieved that in an email this morning. I had to wait about a week before ANY response. I'm not sure why a bug like this hasn't been detected in the system yet. but i hope it gets fixed soon. Hopefully steam contacts me back as soon as possible so the problem can be fixed for EVERYONE. I hope you get access to your account soon btw.. as well as the many other people who might be locked out.

for some reason on new years my pin was reset. and it was Changed to 1231 so anyone who might have had the same issue as i have should try putting that in as their pin. Hopefully this works for anyone else who is having a problem atm.!

well my partner now has the same problem, his steam is claiming he has no e-mail recovery e-mail set up, that he's entered the wrong pin, when like the OP of this post he also has it written down where he can find it easily. He's tried e-mailing steam support only to get a whole bunch of nonsense back! first they asked for his card details >IF< he has ever bought anything from steam so they can track down the game he's having issues with. (Nothing to do with being locked out of family view at all!) and then they accuse him of being the child and to get his parent to go crate a support account because his account details do not match?! it's like support can not process the information given to them in their thick skulls its utterly infuriating.

Try checking to see if the code got hard reset. try using all 0. or 1231.

we already tried 1231 but will get him to try the 0000 see if that works. :/ steam really know how to mess things up.

get back to me. We'll see what we can do to fix it.Hopefully we can do something about this within the next couple of hours or days

Nope, but I am now threatning Steam with legal action as from what I have found this "glitch" is effecting a large number of users, and it is in fact changing account details with out the concent of the account holder.
