- got some authorisations as administrator
- they work for you normal user
- but not for the administrator
did I get that right?
It's just whenever I launch steam under administator mode i can't use any of the shared games.
If the later try getting new authorisations as administrator.
If the former then I have no idea other then simply using you normal account to run steam.
A special user is the administrator/root. This user can modify every aspect of the system. It is not meant to be used in day to day buisness because the restricted possibilities of the normal users act as a savety net. The Idea is that you switch to the administrator user if you have need of it powers*.
Genarally you can either select single programs and run them as a different user or log in as that other user and run all programs as it.
When you (use either way to) run a program as a different user the program might (depending on the program) use different settings for that user, additionally the system may look different to it because it now has access to additional parts.
I don't know which of the two effects is responsible but afaik steam authorisations recived by windows user A work for him and him alone. Other windows users (incl the Administrator user) can not use it.
Thats why I tried to find out which user you used to get the authorisations.
*On Windows this is big pile of poop becase many programers aparantly have a need to make their program needlesly require admin. Maybe it makes them feel special or something. On real Operating Systems it works because it's users didn't tolerate such kind of behaviour.
1.I have 1 user and it is me the admin.
2.???
3.Confusion :s
"Thats strange, you did try it on other days of the week right?"
"No of course not, why would I do anything like that?"
Argh
Then why stress that it doesn't work as administrator?
Of course thats giving people the wrong idea .
So sharing simply dosn't work for you. Under that circumstance there is no much you can do.
Have your friends revoke and then reauthorise your PC (but not the account). Have then check that your account is still autorised too (but not change anything about it unless it is not).
It's only IF i luanch it as admin it does'nt work ( http://prntscr.com/4kusse )
Which one did you use to get the autorisations?
