Which Half-Life do i need to play ESF, and how do i install?

i have HL1 but, do i need to get HL2 instead? And I can't install when i downloaded the esfb123, b/c the install button stays grayed out.

Jesus. Some people are just not meant to install mods. Anyways.

Install ESFB123 to Half Life 1s main directory. After that, restart steam and ESF should be in your library.

If you have a torrented copy of Half life, install esfb123 to the HL directory and then create a shortcut out of hl.exe and then right click on the shortcut and go to properties. You will see something called Target: and at the end of it, with a space type -game esf. Then run the shortcut.
