Thanks to everyone who showed up last night, it was a shame the scrim couldnt go ahead. Get ready to put your game faces on, UGC is fast approaching and we need to get our practice on.

@accident. Saw a video comparing the hurting with a soldier. 1 soldier hurting himself below 100, other around 200, speed is the same. so no need to hurt below base damage. "The rate is halved with targets whose health is at 142.5% or higher, or if the target is being healed by an additional healing beam (such as from another Medic, a Dispenser or the Payload cart.) ". In lobbys i always see people hurting themself down to 20%...annoying when playing medic because i wanna overheal everyone. only useful if you wait for a medic to respawn.

Tip of the week - Just spotted this on Reddit and wondered if we could use it when situation allows, it's written from the medic: If you are a class that can self damage, ie. soldiers and demos, when it is safe to do so: hurt yourself. Don't kill yourself, but hurt yourself. Building ubers goes 2X as fast when I am healing a damaged player.

There are times when we were building uber but doing it on waiting players rather than self-damaging players... could be interesting to put it into play in those calms before the storms...

Well done everybody, it was a wonderful tournament. Im really proud at how far we have all come and I'm so pleased I got to meet and play with you all. Hopefully this wont be the last of us.

For everyone who doesn't really check the comments on announcements I'll post it here as well:

I'll be on holiday for 2 weeks from july 30th till august 13th, so I won't be around for the RRR sadly.

I've just updated the server's config files. We're currently using the latest UGC configs and Whitelist.

Autorecord is also on, if anyone wants any demo files for a lobby etc game, give me the rough time date and map and I'll upload them somewhere for you.

tl;dr: friday training is feedback time, ALAV thinks we are good for being that new as a team, possibly another scrim against another team because it's better than lobbying.

i was really impressed, how well we did. good job everyone. sorry for mako that it took so long and you had too leave :(

Anyway, here are some notes i want to say:

Accident got the stv demo, will send it to dok and mf to watch over. on friday "training" we will let them give some feedback to us. if we have the time we can do a lobby after that.

And another thing: ALAV guys told me there were impressed, how well coordinated sometimes (like combo going right, soldier scout or whatever coming left side same time) and how good we were doing for our first time playing against a coordinated team.

AND one last thing: another friend of mine has a highlander team too, i will ask them if they wanna scrim too, hopefully get a date on tuesday or friday.
Because...to be honest. I think scrimming is helping a lot more than just lobbying. and now we know how the server has to be setup for a scrim with stv enabled. accident can send out the information, so someone else knows too, and next time

An excellent evenings practice. Thanks everyone for showing up. It's a shame the scrim took so long to start, but when it got going we played suprisingly well. Cap it off with a very close lobby victory on Viaduct afterwards. We're getting better every practice guys, keep it up!

Moose has helped a few teams I know as well from STV demos. Tho they were usually teams who knew the maps a bit already and wanted to improve their game. Still think that's worth a shot, send him the STV demo from tonight's match if possible :).
