There is a great collection of EFS stuff on our local tracker. It requires registration though.
Let me just give you a torrent file instead:

Includes full EFS, ripped EFS, patches and editors, NOVA mod v.2.3, Hyperion mod v.14g, and aforementioned window mode patch.

Does this windowed mode allow desktop resolution, 1024 x 786, or is the window fixed at 800 x 600?

first let me thank you very much for this sweet patch!
i really like to enhance my work time with a little bit of EotFS-flavour, but i´m having problems running the game.: the .exe needs the game registry entry to work and i have no permission to alter the registry there.

is there any way around this problem? since it´s abandonware, maybe some sort of "cra..." you know "...ck" or patch / mod / repacked game files.

this will probably never get answered, but does anyone know how to make the window a little bigger (1280x720 maybe?), I would have no idea how, do you edit a .dll?

I'd reckon there is no simple way to do this. Game itself supports but a single screen resolution so to upscale it you need to alter the code. If this change was simple author of the dll would probably have implemented it.
