Post newly-discovered games here
This thread is for newly-discovered DRM-free and client-free games, so put what you find in the comments below. I'll post my own comments to let you know that the wiki page has been updated!

Also, it seems like if you copy and paste the Steam store page URL into your comment, it'll give you a really nice link to the page itself, with a preview of the game, and everything (as you can see in many of the comments below). It's a really nice visual cue, so I recommend doing that whenever you find a DRM-free game.

PLEASE MAKE SURE you specify the operating system on which you tested the game. Not all games are created equally, and some games have versions that are DRM-free on one OS but not on another. Also, remember to do a quick check on the wiki page to see if the game is already listed there.

Nice. I always wanted to try this one. It's a shame it's not on GOG but at least it is drm-free.

I'm sad to report that SIGNALIS IS NO LONGER DRM-FREE. It looks like they added Steam client DRM with the last update, which I just tried for the first time today. It looks like if you have the original executable from the launch version of the game, it can still launch the most recent version DRM-free without downgrading anything, but if you download it for the first time now, the game does require Steam to run.

People probably can still access the old build too by using Steam's own depot downloader. (that's how some people can still play in beta builds of Starbound, for example)

This is correct, the original build is still available on the servers.

Yesterday, Denuvo was removed from Star Ocean the Divine Force. Not only that, the game is completely drm-free. It does require the "steam_appid.txt" file trick (or for the Steam client executable to be renamed) in order to work however. This was tested on a Windows 11 Pro machine.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that after starting the game, it can take a bit for the game to actually start.

Holy crap, that's awesome. This tends to happen with Square Enix games after they remove Denuvo.

Valkyrie Elysium might also be drm-free, but I can't confirm it since I didn't bought it.

I remembered when I email tri-Ace about if they had plans to release Resonance of Fate on GOG, they flat out said no. So it is nice to see at least one of their games being drm-free, it's just a shame that they are not in a good place financially.

I got an update on Valkyrie Elysium. Like with Star Ocean The Divine Force, it's also drm-free when using the "steam_appid.txt" file. I wish the same was for Nier Automata.

Oh, that's excellent news! I've added both games to the wiki page along with Sifu, so we're all updated again.

I do appreciate you updating (I assume is) the Steam Wiki. On my end, I've already updated the PC Gaming Wiki articles for both Valkyrie Elysium and Star Ocean the Divine Force.

Again, thanks to your hard work.

And thank you, as well! Yup, it's the Steam Wikia page that I update whenever I can, but I'm also constantly looking up information on PC Gaming Wiki, and it's excellent to see DRM-free updates on there, as well.

Holy crap, so, this is pretty amazing. Not only is No More Heroes 3 completely DRM-free if you run it via nmh3-Win64-Shipping.exe, but if you run it through the significantly-larger file nmh3.exe, it seems to load up a debug build of the game -- also DRM-free -- which you can use to do things that you normally shouldn't be able to do.

I have a short update about No More Heroes 3. The new update is supposedly from the Window Store version that is a port of the PS5 version. It is still drm-free without any needed tricks, just like the previous version. However I did notice that it is a bit buggier.

Also, you really want to play this new updated version on a SSD or otherwise it chug a bit when loading the data during normal play. I have heard that there are other issues with this update, but I haven't encountered them yet.

At least now you can easily switch between a keyboard and a controller in the game without any weird tricks.

EDIT: I forgot to mention something. After downloading the update, make sure to reset the keybinds to default. Otherwise, the controls will be pretty messed up.

Ha, I was just coming here to post about No More Heroes 3. Being able to switch between control methods more easily is nice, but I've heard that the update makes the game worse in every way otherwise, so I think I'm going to hold off for now. At least they kept it DRM-free.

Now, if only they'd make the first two games playable offline.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is fine. :)

Does anybody know if the games "Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth", "Salt and Sanctuary" and "Vigil: The Longest Night" are drm'd?

Thank you very much.

I've only tried the Lodoss War game, and sadly it's not drm-free.
