EDIT: I'd still like a reply to my question, but after a quick search, seems like there's no point in the Deluxe Edition to begin with.
The items you get from it are obtainable ingame (even the preorder ones). The only thing that's "exclusive" is the artbook, but you can only access it through the game (no .pdf files) and it seems quite lackluster.
If someone passing by knows the answer to my original question, please do let me know.
EDIT: After fiddling with stuff, I can confirm that the Deluxe Edition content cannot be accessed when launching the game outside Steam.
