This thread is going to specifically be for games that have an unknown level of DRM, or for any specific games that people are curious about. In the comments below, feel free to request that anyone who sees this thread test a game if they have it, so they can report back. This will be especially useful for new releases and for games that might be a little niche or unknown.

The demo version Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate appears to be DRM-free if launched directly from its executable (<game-directory>\PBBGU\Binaries\Win64\PBBGU-Win64-Shipping.exe) without any tricks needed. I cannot promise if this will remain DRM-free when the full game releases on February 13, 2025 April 17, 2025.

If the full game has Steam DRM, I wonder if the demo .exe will be able to launch the full game without it. Once in a blue moon, that works.

I heard a rumor that the Until Dawn remaster is completely DRM-free -- no Steam or PlayStation account required -- when run through the shipping .exe. Anyone have it to try it out?

Quoting myself to confirm that Until Dawn is NOT DRM-free. I don't know if it was at launch, but my fully-updated copy that I just downloaded won't run without Steam. It gave me the option to skip the PlayStation account login, so that was a nice surprise, but you'll still have to have Steam running to play.

EDIT: I can now confirm that the launch version of Until Dawn IS, in fact, DRM-free, but the updated versions aren't. I tried to take the .exe from the launch version and run the updated version with it, but it didn't work, and from what I understand, you definitely want the updates for this game, so that's kind of a bummer.

While I have little interest in Until Dawn, I do appreciate your extensive testing on that game.

Hi! I love what you all are doing here. Does anyone know if No Straight Roads is DRM-free on Steam? I tested it on EGS and it seems to run without the launcher.

Ok just tested No Straight Roads. The main executable will launch Steam but if you go to "\NoStraightRoads\Binaries\Win64" the NoStraightRoads-Win64-Shipping.exe is DRM-Free and works outside of team. So yes pretty much the game is DRM-Free.

I just got done testing this game on Windows 11. Unlike the demo, the full game is not drm-free.
