Palpatine didn't just “take advantage” of already existing corruption - he amplified it himself, created pockets of instability and used them as weapons. Most of the events that pushed the galaxy to war - trade disputes, the blockade of Naboo, the rise in power of mega-corporations, the separatist movement - were directly planned or directed by the Sith.Plus, there were sincere reformers in the Senate and they were really trying to restore order. This proves that the Republic could still have been saved.
Palpatine just didn't give it a chance - he created a situation where the only way out seemed to be war and consolidation of power.

Huh didn't think of that. But correct me if im wrong but didn't the entire war happen because the corruption with the republic which is what cause the cis to be formed? I thought Palpatine just took advantage of the already existing corruption. If im remember the lore right.

We can debate here for a long time, but the fact remains that the Republic is strong and the actions of corruption didn't affect it that much. The Republic would have eradicated corruption in a different scenario, namely if it had not been reorganized into an Empire.

Even in the Clone Wars, we see that people like Padme, Bale, and Mon Mothma have real political power and influence. With real corruption - they would just be eliminated or bought.

What we perceive as massive corruption is largely the result of deliberate manipulation by Palpatine and a small group of powerful corporate and political forces.Yes, some senators were self-serving, and organizations like the Trade Federation had too much influence, but most of the Republic's institutions still worked and remained true to democratic ideals. The Jedi Order still had the trust of the populace, and many senators such as Bale Organa, Padme Amidala, and Mon Mothma were active in fighting corruption.The idea that the Republic was too corrupt to survive is pretty much part of the Sith narrative they used to justify its destruction

Exactly. They weren't really made to live a normal life. They were created for the sole purpose of war.

That's part of the reason why I like the Empire is because they didn't use clones after a little while, which eliminated a lot of issues.

True but doesn't that make it more sad? I mean they were created just to fight and die in war the ultimate was pointless. I think at least they should of be give a little more freedom.

I agree with you dear friend, but alas wartime and the senate did little for the clones, unfortunately we have what we have and it is not as critical as it could be.

Given the accelerated growth, such a life can hardly be called fulfilling. I like clones, but you have to realize that they are primarily created for war, not for peaceful life.

But what about what cut said to rex. About how looks at his family. Also what about after the war would the republic even allow the clones to have family and/or rights?

We can remember Rex's remarks on the subject, namely that these guys were born for it, implying death on the battlefield.Given what you have described we can only say that being a military man who can die at any moment voting rights and other krains are empty.The Republic could have treated them better but there was no need to do so.

But the clones had almost no rights. And we're treat like property.

They can't vote but still have to fight. They aren't citizens, but instead are essentially just military hardware. They had no say in any part of their lives or the government they're fighting for.

Clones were punished for fraternizing with non-clones. One of the strictures is that they weren't allowed to have families and any who did deserted to escape punishment.

Not allowing them to have families took away yet another thing that could humanize them and allow them to have some kind of normal life after the war.

I really can't see the justification.

Although I love the Galactic Empire, I can't help but notice that it treated the clones extremely badly considering the new canon, although in the expanded universe everything was more or less fine for the clones.

Corruption was not so strong and would have been eliminated by the end of the war. As for the attitude to the clones, it is acceptable considering that there was a war and the advantage was on the side of the opponent. The Republic did not do something terrible to the clones moreover correctly distributed the forces and did not waste lives except for the shallow Jedi who received power that is useless in their hands. They have no military understanding in most of them.

Real, honestly. If the Republic treated the Clones with more humanity.. and if they weren't so corrupt.. then I would honestly prefer the Republic over the Empire.

Sure. Honestly i prefer the empire over the republic. I hate the republic for how corrupted it was. And for how badly they treated the clones.

Would an Imperial be allowed here? I think Clones are just as awesome as Imperials!
