From The Ashes

Chaotic United was 2011 as a WoW and RuneScape community. As time went on, it became a primarily Minecraft focused community. In December 2013, skeletons in the former Owner's closet were dug up, and as a result the players and loyal CU staff left and founded Nuclear District.

Nuclear District was quite similar to Chaotic United, with a similar ranking system, the same staff and community, and their MC server, just without the poor ownership. It should have been a perfect setup. And it was. For many years ND had quite good tidings and showed much promise. But as time went on, the players and staff both grew older. Players lost interest and Staff lost motivation. In August 2016, the staff announced the end of Nuclear District.

But there is more to the story. Let us step back a couple years.

In early 2014, around the same time ND was starting up, an old CU member thought he ought to get into MC server management and ownership. He created a forums and MC server under the name Chaotic District, an obvious combination of Chaotic United and Nuclear District. Late 2014, he would do something that started off as merely indulging in some nostalgia but would evolve into something much bigger, something much more serious. He rebranded Chaotic District as Chaotic United. This started merely as a sort of childish bragging to friends, where he said that he owned Chaotic United. That player was the 14 year old version of haloman30.

By the end of 2014, that player had a moderately sized team. He had added a member of ND's MC server via Steam and set him as a Moderator. His friend Alycat, another old CU member, had also joined and brought with him people who could pay for an IP.Board license and could host the MC server.

During Spring and Summer of 2015, ND and the new CU were both gaining traction. They also were becoming disliking of each other, moreso with ND disliking CU. But near the end of Summer 2015, CU and ND resolved everything by uniting the two communities into a single website and server. Things continued to go well until the end of 2015, where things started to drop off.

And now we return to the present.

Nuclear District is undergoing the closing process, and Chaotic United is now moving back to the original forums. After ND is closed down, a new era will begin.

Up until now, there have always been two pieces to the community. Even with the merge, both names were being presented and as a result causing some confusion with the community, and disapproval within old ND members who had left CU in the past. But now CU will be on its own for the first time since the revival in 2014.

We are not only going to preserve and rebuild the legacy of the original Chaotic United, but also the spirit of Nuclear District.
