Is it possible to generate a planet intead of a limitless world?

trying to figure out crafting in blockscape. I bought it when it first came out, but now its all different. I have the latest preview 2 snapshot. Is survival mode working at all, can you make a pick axe yet. Or should I just stick with god mode.
