Report a translation problem
As you said yourself, not much knowledge is available about them. Most of it can be found in the Elder Scrolls novels.
I really like them myself, so much that I am playing an An-Xileel agent and was working on a An-Xileel-based mod as well. Sadly, it is currently on-hold, as I lost the motivation.
What many people tend to forget, is that you cannot have "perfection". Neither in characters nor factions.
Everyone has dark secrets and everyone at some point did something really bad. But it was most likely justified as being for "the greater good". In my vision, An-Xileel is no exception.
