Server Description (Rules & Info)
Server Settings
  • Map Pin for player location is shown
  • PvP is enabled
  • Voice chat on the server is local only
  • Text chat is global (Use / in place of enter to talk in tribe chat)
  • Tribute downloads is renabled for now, the devs think its safe but I will be keeping an eye to make sure nothing bugs out.
  • Crosshair is turned off for added difficulty

Rules
  • No modified clients or cheating! (Don't try the server will detect you)
  • No duping items or exploiting of the games bugs in unfair ways.
  • No spawn kills (Don't kill freshly spawned people on the beach unless they attack first or are harassing you)
  • PvP IS allowed! Please try to keep it tasteful though and not just kill weaker people for hours for fun. Killing should be reserved for trying to get peoples gear, not as a pastime hunting them down. In a world full of dinosaurs the average person would be more worried about surviving then just killing every other person just because they can.
  • Raiding is allowed but completely destroying someones base is not. Only break what you need to get in, don't destroy all their equipment. This isn't fun for anyone and if raiding and getting good items is what you enjoy allowing people to keep their shelter and some of their work benches etc. just means more chance for loot later. (Practice a renewable raiding technique)
  • If someone blocks the entrance to a cave or any of its item boxes or resources it is OKAY to destroy their base or take it down. Foundations with just beds should be left alone except in the case of them actively using said bed to respawn and attack you, then destroying it is okay.
  • Excessive cussing or vulgarity will be punished. The occasional word is fine but please keep global chat tasteful.
  • Ignorance of the above rules does not preclude you from being banned or given a warning.
  • Three warns will result in a ban.

Any breaks of the above rules can and will result in a ban with it up to the admin to decide if your ban is temporary or permanent.

Clarification of Rules:
There has been some questions asked lately and a bit of confusion so I wanted to make this super clear. This IS a PvP server. I expect people to go to war and raid for resources and revenge and fight over the best spots. However the game is in its infancy at a stage where a brand new player who just got on the server today could be tearing down your entire base tonight over a very short course of time and being trollish just for the laughs, they don't care about out server, about raiding to get items or progress themselves or anything of the like and after their carnage they will just move on to the next server. That is not PvP. That is just trolling. The best way I can clarify in the rules what is and isn't acceptable is to say think about it as if you were your character, waking up in a strange place suddenly surrounded by dinos and hungry with no shelter. You might steal and plunder but your not gonna sit outside a giant base with a tiny stone tool and just slowly chip away at the entire base while someone is sleeping to "get food and supplies" your gonna take down a tiny back door find what you can that isn't locked and high tail it out of there. Then maybe once you get built up a little more have some tamed dinos you may get a little more ballsy and start breaking their storage open while they sleep as carefully as you can so they awake to everything but the tool benches and beds too big for you carry gone. In the span of the game world this would make sense to do, but just waking up in the game world killing everyone you see on sight and leveling base after base after base (with stone tools, that's a really tough arm you have there) just isn't realistic. And lets face it, no one is doing that because they want all the loot and to build a massive castle, they are doing it just to be jerks, and will likely leave the server after they have had their fill. If for no other reason than there is no more players because they lost all their stuff, so its just as easy to start on a smaller server or pick a place no one will find them. This does you no good as someone who enjoys raiding because that means there less to raid. If you like war, well good luck most of the players are probably hiding out or left.

The TL;DR is don't do things that wouldn't make sense in the scope of the game world, raid to your hearts content and loot to your hearts content, but don't do it just to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because it ruins the server for everyone, including the people that enjoy raiding. I speak from experience. Me and a few of my friends have been the downfall of a few crafting/pvp servers where anarchy was the only rule. People get tired of starting over. But if you play your cards right you not only get to steal the loot but you encourage them to build better defenses and think smarter which in turn usually means better loot and a more interesting challenge for you to overcome. Trust me when I say its worth it.

When refunds are in order and how to ensure you get one
A refund is when some game bug or rule on the server is broken and you lose dinos/bases/what your carrying to it. Refunds are NOT free handouts and if any abuse of the system is found that individual will get to go without refunds for the rest of their tenure on our server. So don't mess it up for yourself. To qualify for a refund you must always be able to prove what you say happened really did. Log in to a death message saying x player killed you only to get back and see your base has been completely flattened while you sleep? Screen shot the player killed message, even if you get back to your base and its still there you will know who to get revenge on, so its a good practice to get in. Screenshot often. If you clipped through the world and are falling and you lose your dino, get a screenshot as fast as you can.

The following times are when refunds are in order:
  • When you lose items or dinos due to clipping through the world. In this case, and almost all others, basic primitive tools and other generic tools and armor is all that will be replaced and only if there is evidence you actually had it on you when you died.
  • When your base has been completely knocked down by another player. When this occurs I will do my best to give you a fair amount of walls/floors/etc back and basic tools to get started again or put you close to back to where you were, but you wont receive any chests or other objects. Most of that is comparatively easy to replace and its hard to prove that you didn't just have a tribe mate leave the tribe tear your base down then come to me with them after they rejoin the tribe and say you weren't killed and so you have no message of who did it just that its all gone now and you want a refund. Replacing the stuff inside isn't super hard. So I suggest if your really worried about losing your stuff set up metal vaults or hide bases in really secluded places, as small as possible and just enough room for some of your important items. This may seem unfair, but unfortunately its really easy for people to abuse this currently. But they are working on getting a ton more backend support so admins can be much more aware of whats happening and then we will try our best to be fair. But for the time being the burden of proof lays on the player.
  • Losing taming on a dinosaur or logging back in after a restart dead (this only applies when you log back in within a few minutes of the server coming back up, not logging out as its coming down then coming back 3 hours later to find some player found your body - this is only for when you die abruptly with no reason other than it restarted or in the case of when I cant warn about a restart dying due to a dino killing you on server restart because they respawned and you weren't somewhere safe). If you can get back to your body, you should. If you cant basic tools as mentioned above will be replaced. If you lose a taming dino I usually try to warn before restarts, but sometimes due to the game updating automatically and not allowing the game to launch when an update is available I cant always give a warning. If I do give one I suggest screenshoting your taming a minute or two before I say it will go down so I can see what level it is and how far along you are. If your just taming and I'm not on the server you should just periodically take screenshots of things your taming.
  • Finally in the event of a map wipe due to a major bug or something of the devs doing (for example if they roll out a new map that isn't compatible) or in the case of us deciding to either go with a random gen map or mod map down the road kits at your comparative level will be given out to attempt to put you back in a place near where you were, or in some cases we may attempt if its possible to transfer as much as we can over. In some cases though a kit may be the only option. For example if a major duplication bug occurs and it appears nearly everyone is using it and we go from 1-2 large bases to suddenly everyone has a giant metal castle complete with chests full of tools and weapons, we are likely to wipe the map and just give out kits that are based on level and number of tamed dinos (and what those dinos were - 20 dodos may not get you much but 20 spinos might) We don't intend to ever wipe if we don't have to, so a roll back is more likely. That said we are considering changing maps depending on how well mod maps and random gen is supported. The devs want it to be as easy as connecting to the server is now, and the mod automatically downloads itself from the steam workshop when you try and join. Same thing with random gen. If this is the case its something we are definitely considering down the road, so expect to see some polls on it when we know more about it.

Please let me know in the comments below if anyone has any interest in additional rules or tweaking some rules. If it makes sense and most people are happy with it I am happy to change things around to suit the servers likes.
