If you are asking this question - it means you should not. You are not coming to hardware store to ask "should I use a hammer?". That's nonsense. You only come to the store when you precisely know that you need a hammer, not other way around. Same here.

no, i thought it was for drop cards, but i see most people in the group are idling games like cs, tf2, dota 2, i don't get it

ASF's main purpose is farming cards, hence the name: ArchiSteamFarm. Nonetheless, it offers a lot other features, some of which are used for boosting hours in some games. If you wanna understand how it works start by reading the link I posted in my previous comment and if you get curious maybe you'll find yourself reading other wiki pages, which would be great.
