Adding pin code to account
Hi, how exactly do I edit the pin code to my account (parental pin)?

I tried 'config generator' and added there, and replaced my main account 'Ninja_Gaijin.db' file with the newly created one.

Still says 'generating steam parental code, this can take a while, consider putting it in the config instead...'

What am I doing wrong?

If you get this message then the pin code that you put is incorrect for this account. ASF is forced to generate valid pin in this case, same as if lacking it entirely.

And you should never touch .db files, parental pin is in json config file same as everything else.

Messing with .db files, obviously. Those are created by ASF and should not be edited. You need to save file from config generator with .json extenstion (and that's actually what config generator suggests by default).

I wasn't actually messing with db files but rather the json files - I did also try using the config editor - I will try again now.

Steps:
Open configgenerator.html into chrome (with security addons excluded/disabled for the page)
Go to Bot tab
Add name, steamlogin, password and parental code, set 'enabled' and download. Replace json file in 'configs'.
Load Steam ASF
'ValidateSteamParental() Generating Steam parental code, this can take a while, consider putting it in the config instead....

Then it waits for quite some time, but does create/validate parental pin, but it never seem to read the one 'in the config'.

Json is:
{
"SteamLogin": "mylogin",
"SteamPassword": "mypassword",
"SteamParentalCode": "pin#",
"Enabled": true
}

Just remove this useless pin altogether. Why do you even use it?

Thanks, I goofed and this was it - I had one digit wrong in my pin. Will confirm it is working now - yep that fixed it, thanks for that! Sorry for my stupid error lol

I have Steam sharing on my lounge room computer, so that guests can stream games from my room/more powerful PC. This way they do not get messages from my friends showing up and cannot access the store or spend my steam wallet funds accidentally etc.
