How to send commands to ASF using Steam chat? (SOLVED!!!)

I know this is a total noob question but I look everywhere on the github wiki but can't find the answer.

So if I am only farming one account how do I send commands to ASF using the Steam chat? Do I send a Steam chat to myself? Or do I need to have a second account to send Steam chats to the farming account? How would it work?

It's not required to have any extra account for executing commands though Steam chat - you can create a group, set SteamMasterClanID properly to that newly created group, then set SteamMasterID as yourself. This way ASF bot (you) will join group and chat of your selected group, and listen to commands from your own account. You can join the same group chatroom in order to issue commands to yourself (as you'll be sending command to chatroom, and ASF instance sitting on the same chatroom will receive them, even if it shows only as your account being there). Apart from that, you can also use WCF, but chatroom way is much easier, and if you have access to some alt account, then using that instead is even easier.

I know about the commands, but how do you give the commands through Steam chat if I am only farming with one account? How would I send the command through Steam chat to myself?

That's the point: you need a master account and a bot at least, if you want to send commands.

It's explained on the wiki that you can use group chat for sending commands to yourself as well.

I can't seem to get Steam Group Chat workin with my bot.

I only have one account.
I set "SteamMasterClanID" & "SteamMasterID" as the groupID and my profile's ID in the bot's config file.
SteamMasterClanID was found as instructed by wiki and SteamMasterID was found by looking at the link to my steam profile.
Any help is appreciated.

EDIT-:- Fixed my issue. Forgot to set SteamUserPermissions for my account.

In my case, the issue was the "Offline" mode. I was scratching my head the whole time.

Hopefully, this is useful for someone who stumbles here with the help of a search engine.

It's important to note that ASF running on Offline mode will not be able to receive commands in usual Steam chat way, as the chat, as well as entire community presence is in fact, entirely offline. A solution to this issue is using Invisible mode instead which works in a similar way (not exposing status), but keeps the ability to receive and respond to messages (so also a potential to dismiss notifications and unread messages as stated above). Invisible mode makes the most sense on alt accounts that you don't want to expose (status-wise), but still be able to send commands to.
