The first point release of ZDaemon 1.09 has been released after just two months. This update affects the ZDaemon Client only. Take a quick look at what's new:

• Super-Sampled Anti-Aliasing (SSAA)[zdaemon.org] - be sure to check the original news post[zdaemon.org] regarding this feature
  
• Widescreen support[zdaemon.org]
  
• Mouse code improvement that removes undesired mouse acceleration in Windows Vista/7 and plays nicely with high polling rates like 1000hz
  
• ZLauncher will now automatically look for missing wads needed to playback a zdd demo
  
• Demo compression has been improved further and the ZDaemon Demo Tool will auto-convert any demos saved through it
  
• A new Quick Chat Block feature that works similar to the Quick Voice Mute feature has been implemented

A new 1.09 beta has just been released (and will be automatically installed for you by the ZLauncher). Here are a few of the changes you'll find in this release:

- Improved netcode

- Improved the PiP to show health/armor next to the player's name.


- Survival improvements: joins are blocked when the last player dies and before the map restarts. Also, players lose any weapons/items from previous rounds if they remain spectators for over a minute since the map start.


- When someone dies in overtime in CTF and DDOM modes, he will be forced to remain dead for a period directly proportional to the time already played in overtime (2 seconds delay per minute played). This is intended to serve as a tie-breaker.


- When a round starts in double domination (after a team score), all players are teleported to their team spawns. This is done to avoid camping on the dom. points.


- Security and Aiming cameras now work online.

We hope that you will find the new design to be cleaner, better organized and more visually appealing than the former one. It is intended to provide our users with up to date information and important announcements. It also provides the ZDaemon team with a convenient way to keep in touch with the community.

When using regular or team chat the "say:" prompt will be drawn with the color specified in the messages color options.

Faster server refreshes in the launcher's "Insane" speed setting.
Greatly improved (and faster) wad patching in the launcher. Also better and more accurate handling of commercial WADs.
New ZRC option to record the "last message time" for all users in the channels to which you belong, classify users as idle/non-idle based on that time and display idle users in faded colors in the channel member list.
