Even if you ignore the fact that your player character is required to marry a literal monster (and opposite sex at that), it has pro-DEI messaging such as women working as fishermen or bartenders and it's possible to write your portrait as non-white, ignoring racial tensions in the time period.

Hmm. This one isn't out yet so we can only go by what's in the demo.

From what I can tell, the character creation menu uses male/female, all npcs are white, all couples are heterosexual, all npc families only involve humans, only males can be heads of household/heirs, and duties are assigned to entire family units, not individuals.

The player character's relationship with his/her deep-one spouse (in particular the sexual interactions) seem to be presented as disturbing/horrifying rather than in a positive light.
