Civ 5 works fine, but you need one extra step
UPDATE: This doesn't work for Civ: Beyond Earth (yet). as far as I know there's no way to use WBG with Civ:BE. Sorry.

In Civilization 5 when I set it to borderless window, I notice my cursor is offset pretty significantly. Meaning that I have to put the mouse pointer about 100 pixels higher to click a button. There's an easy fix for this, luckily. Just go into video options, change the resolution to something smaller, then change it back to the resolution you desire. Problem solved!

The reason this happens is because when the program removes the border, it does not take into consideration that Civ 5 was set to a slightly smaller resolution to compensate for having a border. Since the two programs are not linked in any way, Civ 5 doesn't automatically adjust its internal resolution. Unfortunately you will need to do this every time you launch the game.

Another little tip if you're having trouble getting it to work at all. Minimize all windows until you just have the Civ 5 window up, then go into your taskbar and manually click the "Add window" option. Then click into Civ 5 and press the hotkey. In my past experience it's usually very hard to get it to work without doing exactly that.

Hope this helps. :happymeat:

Good thinking about switching the resolution down and up again, will try this on a few other games that have simmilair issuess with the mouse.

I will add that you can change the resolution, and when it asks you "is this OK? will revert in 15 seconds" you can just click 'No' and that's enough to fix the cursor.

Has anyone been able to make this work with Beyond Earth?
When I change the resolution, the window borders will come back for a few seconds and the game apparently takes them into account when resizing.
Is there a way to change the resolution without having the borders come back?

@Thrar: Unfortunately, no. But Beyond Earth is also a terrible game so I wouldn't expect them to fix this.

If a game has cursor offset issuess it's just how the game's engine works so its not a fixable issue from our end.
Some games like Civ 5 will work thanks to work arounds like these, but i guess the new version of their engine broke that too by re-inforcing borders.

We're making a secondary method to make a game fake-fullscreen wich most likely would work, but the bad news is, by the time thats implemented you probably wont be playing this game anymore :-p

@Gameplay Crush: I'm -already- not playing this game anymore. Beyond Earth might have hope if the developers listen to the outcry and release some free patches to fix what should have already been in the base game -- but you and I both know it'll just be a DLC-circlejerk to milk its fanbase for every drop of respect still left in the franchise. Maybe in a few years from now the game will have enough mods to be playable.

And also if you do this step, it will fix the tearing that you get if you look closely at the O letters.
