This thread is for discussion and talk about RGA 2024.
This is airing in January of 2025 due to very first show being crowd funded at the end of 2024 by real genuine gamers and it needed some time to gather resources. This particular show is pre-recorded, but airs online nonetheless. The next one is planned to be hosted in a real venue and going to air directly live as it goes, on-stage.

Yeah I'm not sure an award show is really needed, I think some people miss having some kind of event tho so everyone just clings onto TGA now due to the death of E3 not because they they actually care about the awards, its like the only official thing happening in gaming that everyone can talk about even if just to laugh and cry about.

The only actual confirmed 9001% lolcow (and a confirmed pedo that "dated" a 15 years old girl, while being much older than her) there is Razorfist. The dude literally has a 600+ pages-long thread "dedicated" to him on Kiwi. He's an absolute scumbag, complete anal clown, and an outright criminal. That thread about him on Kiwi been ongoing since 2016, ffs, there's A LOT of scathingly bizarre and very horrible info that people managed to find and unearth about him, cataloging everything, so it baffles me that Craig and others still haven't denounced and completely severed all ties with this piece of garbage, just because they don't know about his filthy dirty past/background. Craig, for one, is a vehement pedo hater, since he has two daughters, he openly stated several times that he has no qualms in beating up the living crap out of a pedo if opportunity happened. Razorfist is CONFIRMED to be one.

He "dated" that girl from when she was just 15, and for whole 5 years, until she became 20, after which she broke up and severed all ties with him. But that "relationship" left a massive mental trauma on her...I won't go into further details (it's on Kiwi), but would just say that it really didn't end well for her because of all this. Someone has to expose truth about this POS to Craig eventually. They literally have an actual predator pedo in their midst.

maybe the new organisers and people funding a new "alternative awards" could claim to represent other vision, goals, and methods, but by restricting access with a paywall to the general public, they are only inviting sabotage, and reduced growth. many people used to watch the oscars, because watching was free, and it was made free, because the money came from sales of film deals, tickets, and obv politicians and related people (which was what actually helped to gradually kill them, as well as exposing it as bs).

often, many companies that were never woke, after hiring a few activists, will turn eventually woke or can become easily a money laundering machine for politicians, religious extremists, or worse.

imo, awards shows for games, films, or any other form of entertainment, should be limited as "side shows" of conventions related to their respective industries, and if they truly value the opinions of "consumers", anything related to voting and "choosing who gets air time in the big stage", should be independent, free and open, even if assisting to the event physically would cost a ticket.

theres are a few good videos about how the bs of the oscars work by a guy named "adam conover" which used to make a show named "adam ruins everything" (which was probably killed because the topics often looked anti-establishment), in which he tried to expose scams and bs in business. he is a leftist, and currently i dont agree with some things he says, but his content is usually pretty good (at least his classic show) and is one of the reasons i started taking more time in watching "alternative media" (including right more wing shows, including "conspiracy stuff", because ive always liked "spooky stuff" lol)

anyway, those kind of events, and maybe even political events, could probably work better if governments invested more in "improving governance" (ie what milei is trying to do by reducing the size of the government, or what trump is trying with "doge"); and that would also mean funding entities similar to the "pirate parties" (some which were trying to create new methods for making elections more open, while also pushing for better privacy for individuals); just how democrats used the gov to push dei and woke-ism in every aspect of life, we need now groups that teach how finances and business actually work, freely, everywhere, to work as "anti-woke-ist" orgs, so more people not only are able to detect the bs sooner, but also rejects it asap and call it so it doesnt begin to corrupt everything.

The primary reason for "paywalling" is that, at least according to Craig, "you should be able to get voting rights on RGA only if you're a hard working human being and thus your mouth is put where your money is". This should work as "preventive measure", because NeoGAFers/REEEEsetards (plebbitors, tumblrinas, and any other arrogant braindead leftardoids) are too greedy and cheap to dare to pay their own money to "screw" the voting system of RGA. At least that's how Craig and others see it working in theory. This, naturally, automatically should sift/filter out thousands of potential "bad actors". Purely on a personal level, I think the current pricing is a bit too high, I would've set it much cheaper, but the concept itself is definitely a good anti-troll or anti-leftardoid scumbag filter.
I think they'll decrease the prices eventually, add more tiers, once the event gathers enough exposure and solidifies it's footing, but it'll be at least a couple years to get there. It's natural.

My personal sour gripe with it at the current time being, is the fact that they give Razorfist any screen time at all, that they include him, that they allow him to hang around with them.

Seems like an interesting idea and a decent alternative to the max shill awards done in december, but hiding the nominees and comments behind a paywall is a bit much.

It's also great way to judge which games to support and which one not to. A good example is the nuclear response from the Selaco dev after Craig did for free. After that I decided to take that off my watched games list. As well as that racing game that won. Nobody would have cared about the orientation of the dev of that game until they went into a meltdown.

I was referring to the jeremy from that quarter channel. Quit watching his videos once he started putting sponsors from shitty mobile games, while also telling people he's "for the people and helping them be aware of garbage companies/games etc"..
