* On Dawnwalker - I'm not that into vampire stuff, and until a few mins ago didn't realize it was published by Bandai Namco, a DEI / ESG company...we'll see where it goes, but I am hesitant to give any money to Bandai Namco.
from the information that has become public, is around half of the original cdpr devs that have gone elsewhere (many to "rebel wolves"), and most of those were already gone more or less when they were working in the "expansion dlc" for cyberpunk. so, if that dlc managed to avoid "typically drastic woke related issues", is because most of the work was already done, much like (probably) to what happened when baldurs gate added "woke related extras" to please the dei activists inside the company, but without trashing the main product.
cdpr is probably still losing or going to lose more from their original talent, and replaced by mediocre activists, and since the new witcher game at best is just half done, is probably going to have very poor and predictable script-writing (at best as good as the trailer, which imo is pretty bad, with a lot of recycled "witcher tropes" and ideas), as well as poor gameplay mechanics and combat system (not because the main character will be ciri, which could work if done by good devs, or using an approach similar to "dishonoured 2", with the "father and daughter dynamic", each with their own plot, but maybe mixing sometimes both).
imo, the only way "new cdpr" will correct course (and the pro woke ceo loses influence and maybe control), will be after the new game fails, or someone else takes over before that happens, and resets again the company, and delays the game a few years to fix whatever they have done. i think this is unlikely to happen, but still possible.
dei, esg, and everything related, and their new names, will remain present, but less explicit. devs dont want to deal with early rejection of their products from bad pr, and the activists need money and claim that what they do works, is useful, or at least doesnt destroy the products.
so that means, (maybe) "direct and open rejection" wont work as well because most people wont be as annoyed, or the woke content will be actually optional, and will be harder to prove that activists were involved in the design or coding. Therefore, maybe if people want to "escalate things", will need to directly try "to cancel" or sabotage dei companies, rather than just rejecting the products of those hiring them to please vanguard, black rock and similar groups.
I could not agree with your VERY WELL written post more.
Keep it up.
i don't know, they hired that sweet baby chick as lead writer and already literally broke lore and made ciri a witcher, i'd say that at least some proof that the activists are having their way with the franchise? but after the trailer's backlash there prob won't be much more news on the game or new trailers for a while? i think a lot of people that are already on our side have seen and heard enough to know to reject what's happening with the game and company as a whole.
but i don't know what else we can do at this point except keep standing our ground, mocking and memeing everything they do and being here for the normies for when they finally wake up from the spell they've been under. i'm guessing the witcher will fail on it's own the same way assasin's creed is set to and every other dei project has been doing.
like i don't even want to bring up all the dei hires in the los angeles fire department and every other city managment position over there because it's a tragedy for the people that are there just living their lives. but we have to continue to point it out.

Watters: Here’s the latest on what caused the fire - fox news (youtube)
imo, even if that is obv bad, and they probably used part of money meant for safety, not only for dei related bs, but fund their future political campaigns, maybe what is worse is that journalists are not trying to follow more closely the actions and reactions of politicians closely connected to the fires, as well as activists and media trying to help them save face. i least the video shows how they are trying to use their "fact checking site" to fund political bs.
i recently watched a video that tells how a lot and maybe most of the money donated to linux projects, actually never ends in funding software development, but dei related bs; so, is not a surprise same happens with everything else meant for the "public".
i hope this comment isnt removed. i think should be ok, since it may look a bit cynic (because is a "tinfoil hat comment", but an obv idea imo, and an angle which also havent seen mentioned yet, probably for the same reason):
if we take into account other "parallel themes" which are as important and "bigger" (not only for politics, but how they related to the worst aspects of "the extreme left"), and add to those that there has been evidence of some intentional fires, made by people that have little to lose, or that would be willing to risk jail time for a chance of earning a lot in a short time through the tragedy and chaos, who else (like "big players in big trouble") could benefit from that? and i mean, like people connected to the estein, diddy, and others involved in the "cult of the white suits" conspiracy (human traffic and abuse business; many connected to hollywood, and "funny enough" to the "radical left").
what im saying is how far would go someone with a lot of money, part of a big network of abusers and shady businesses, to try to cover their tracks; how much would they be willing to "sacrifice" to avoid detection or destroy evidence, that could lead to a 180 degree turn in their world?
i think the timing is abit too convenient, and even if incompetent, if they didnt believe those properties as "disposable", they would be acting in a different way. In many videos, you can see these people smiling, rather than looking concerned for what everyone else is going through. i think something "sketchy" is probably going on, and maybe would be interesting to try to track how those fires spread, specially those that have been already recognised as intentional.
They collaborated with Bandai Namco on the project. And this japanese company has revealed their ALL IN DEI orientation. They recently released Unknown9 to remind people.
So, again, let's wait but never celebrate too soon.

rebel wolves is making the game, and probably will remain mostly independent (even before getting involved with Bandai). Bandai is acting only as publisher, and that limits a lot how much they could censor or change, if they wanted to force rebel wolves to push dei bs.
so from my perspective, currently worst case is that the game could end adding "woke related sidequests and extras", like baldurs gate devs did, and like them, without trashing the main product. imo, it will be better than whatever "witcher 4" becomes; hopefully mostly free of "dei-woke" bs (but thats almost impossible for western aaa studios and games).
japanese devs and publishers that have become in recent years involved with dei, are currently also beginning to think twice their involvement (or open support), not only thanks to "the great return of the orange man", but because they are also beginning to become unable to risk sacrificing their earnings to get dei money and support (which is why square-enix is trying to push rules to help them censor criticism of their games, no matter if the comments are fair or not, which imo will probably backfire sooner than what they expect or hope to win; square-enix has been facing a lot of rejection and criticism recently thanks to many dei related choices, and they have been unwilling to accept they were bad choices).
there has been also recently lots of new about dei-supporting companies like visa, "making war" against anime and manga in japan (many left activists hate typical anime tropes, because they are "sexist" or "hetero-normative", among other silly reasons like absence of obese characters, etc). so, a lot is also going on there, related to the same bs. so hopefully, more western player will begin to support "traditional" jrpgs and japanese media, so it doesnt become corrupted.
If they signed with bandai then that means they needed funding to start or finish the game? They're a big company, so they might have a say in what gets removed or added. All depends on the devs and how much they got offered..
Definitely a wait and see approach, although the reveal of the game looked decent and interesting.
Sure, it's in medieval setting instead of modern-day Seattle, but lately there's little difference it's manageable.
I suppose we shall have to wait and see.
I no longer trust any marketing material in this industry and if it isn't true yet for everyone else/... it soon will be .Devs should probably just save their money.
There was a time before hundreds of games started advertising one thing and delivering another when gamers like myself felt safe getting excited about the hype because the amount of risk in disappointment was going to be manageable , but honestly I just can't get excited like that anymore, it feels emotionally unwise. After Starfield for example, it's not just my trust in BGS that is damaged because it represented a precedent, so it isn't just my faith in BGS that's damaged it's my faith in ANY MS owned company.
I'm learning though... if it's flashy and the trailer avoids any plot reveal then it's probably a borderline AI generated plot thinly veiling a DEI Soapbox...otherwise, why not sell the great story, right? why hide that?
well i don't know if you're just talking "in general" or about dawnwalker but they did pretty much lay out the story. that's what's got us interested. that and we know that this was probably the actual talent at CDPR and they decided to give them the finger and do their own thing rather than work under a sweet baby lead writer/team leader.
but yeah i'm sure most of us are "wait and see" about games especially these days. but i have more confidence in getting a good ol game out of rebel wolves than i would getting one from ubisoft or cdpr or bethesda or any of the "established" studios at this point. they've all sold out to the highest bidder and are all run by corporate greed rather than artistic expression or just a love of video games.
good new games are getting harder and harder to come by these days, so lets hope they can pull it off.
If Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 ends up being a Trojan horse, we will have to double our efforts scrutinizing devs. Since now we know they are trying different strategies, keen on hiding their wokeness and selling people wolf tickets. My thoughts are Rebel Wolves doing a long con where they desperate to establish themselves in an anti-woke market so make the game neutral/not woke, get that audience that glaze them, then slowly insert things in DLC/sequels. There is nothing that makes them hypocrites doing this as being neutral (not having woke content) is different from being anti-woke (saying male and female in a character creator). It can go either way further down the line with no fear of being labelled face-turners.
Problem for them is woke people can't help virtue signaling and 'mouthing off' revealing intentions and where he dev stands on issues. Plus all the woke community managers souring relationships with the gamers. It goes without saying that if a rainbow is leading the game we know there's no point asking for a litmus test and assume there might be something hidden late in the game.
Not a good sign, all the clues are coming together.
