Quake 2 Remaster (+Screencap)

This one hurts me a bit... More than a bit, actually.
I'm a old school shooters fan and... I, in particular, love Quake 2.

The remaster as a whole is actually fine, as it is a very well made remaster... but this time, woke politics have indeed snuck their way in (to some minor extent, I will admit) unlike with the remaster of the first game.

The original campaigns of the game have been preserved to their fullest and have even been improved one way or another (without any censorship to report, surprisingly enough). However, the *new* story campaign (made by the people behind the new and recent Wolfenstein titles... Those who know, know. But I will make sure to add those to the list here aswell... Ohhh boooy) contains that pride flag. It's stamped on the "pod" that the player comes out of right on the very first mission You can partake in. It is literally visible as soon as You start and turn behind You. The new campaign also has become infamous for excluding a particular enemy from the Strogg roster (named "Iron Maiden").

(Funny that this is also the model You see in the RTX version of Quake 2, meaning that recent release didn't suffer censorship either).

One look at her, and its more than obvious understand *why* a group that makes woke, liberal pandering games didn't include the enemy woman with the big breasts...
How childish and dumb...
It's even more baffling and jarring to think, because on the other hand it's pretty clear Nightdive Studio (I choose to believe so, anyways) made sure to preserve absolutely everything from the OG titles, including player models of pirate themed girls with big breasts and more provocative looks than Your standard player avatars.

Pretty sad idiots have to push their little talking points into EVERYTHING.

I wonder if we can give a pass to that one, it's just one secret location. I wish Steam would be better than just good/bad reviews...

Unfortunately, like I did explain, it's not really in a secret location.
But right behind a player's starting point within' a map.

Personally I am willing to forgive it, at the very least, as the new maps are of great quality and the entire rest of the remaster was done pretty amazingly.

Hey, I read the analysis on Quake 2 and almost had a heart attack because I swear there was no flag or censored enemy in the game, since I even fought an Iron Maiden a while back after they upgraded to the remaster.
Then I had to search for this discussion to find out it only apply to the new content by Machine Games.
I think it's fair to specify that for transparency, since the original content wasn't removed or censored.

I'm a little confused. Can I play the old campaign remastered as was intended and avoid the "new" campaign altogether or are you forced to play the new campaign?

While gay flag is pretty obviously a way of pushing LGBT agenda, the lack of Iron Maiden in this campaign isn't really that woke. Creators of The Reckoning also haven't used original Iron Maiden, but Beta Iron Maiden and they did that only once on a single map. I feel this was based purely on a map design decision rather than being woke.
