Dungeon Digger Review
The Deeper We Go
Dungeon Digger is the perfect game if you are looking for something cheap, relaxing, and mining for hours on.
Dig your way around in this 2D top-down, dwarven digging game. Mine various ores to craft new/better gear and tools or find mineshafts leading deeper down.

The Game of The Play
In Dungeon Digger, you’re a hard-working mountain dwarf digging deep within the mountain for various ores. And with those ores, upgrade your gear and tools for safer travel and faster digging.
The player always begins on the first level and will need to find mineshafts to reach deeper depths of the mine and discover various ores. This means that the better upgrades the player has, the quicker they can dig and return to their last known level or go even deeper.
The only way for the player to exit the mines and return to the main menu is by simply pressing the “ESC” button. Or dying by enemies: “All the looted ore will still count as mined and saved.”
“From what it seems, there are around ten levels.”

In the main menu, the player only has three options: Play – Craft – Exit. No settings tab for audio or display, so if the player feels like the music is too loud, they’d need to lower the game's volume from Windows audio settings.

Crafting/Upgrading
In the main menu there is a tab called “Crafting.” In that tab, the player will see two bars, each filled with icons of different ores. Those tabs show what ores and how much of each ore is needed for the next upgrade of the player's gear or tool.

Visual & Audio
Visuals
Other than being a classical pixel 2D game, the animations for this game are so cute, fun, and interesting.
And it’s not all the animations; it's specifically the dwarfs mining animation. As it's not only his pickaxe that swings, but his eyes and facial/bodily expression change with the swinging of the pickaxe, which I find a liking to.
Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the best of it all.

Audio
Even though there are no settings for the audio, the game consists of this pleasant tavern background music, which is very soothing and fits the whole theme.

Pros and Cons
    Pros
  • Pleasent Music
  • Stunning Character Animations
  • Cheap

My final little thoughts
This enjoyable little game is cheap, fun, takes some time mining, and of course soothing tavern music to accompany you on the ride.
I recommend this game for anyone who’s looking for a cheap, fun, small game.
