No Stone Unturned Review
This review was made based on my experience playing on a Ryzen 7 7700x, 32GBs of ram and a RX 6800 xt, be mindful that my experience can differ from yours depending on the hardware.

No Stone Unturned (NSU) is short and free to play click and point adventure about a delivery man that works in a company which mostly dispatches illegal items. I will be a bit more in depth about the story later on, but just be aware that you can finish this game in under an hour and explaining anything besides that would spoil the story.

Questions you might have if you're interested in playing it:

  • What is it exactly that you do in the game?

It’s a click and point game so… it’s self-explanatory: you point over stuff and click it. The game also offers you several options to talk and spy over NPCs to get more out of the story and some very simple puzzles, but that is it. Simple but serviceable.

  • Will it make my eyes bleed?

NSU has a very simplistic pixel art style. It’s not particularly good, but as for free pixel art games on steam go, it’s fine. Pixel art is meant to represent the basic idea of object and you are the one that has to fill the gaps with your imagination and the pixel art of this game does that well. It’s decent but because it tries to go for the “noir” mood, the colors aren’t saturated.

  • Does it have a good story?

The whole game is marketed as a “Noir story” and I see elements of it but it feels like the most entry level version of a noir story that I had experienced in months. I don’t hate it but, maybe because the game was so short, I didn’t get the chance to embrace the world and truly savor it. It’s overall good but a bit too predictable for my taste.

  • Does it have a good soundtrack?

I tried to check if this game has an OST and to my surprised it had one. I don’t know why it slipped out of my mind but I think that speaks volumes about it. It’s the type of OST that for the most part you don’t notice that it’s there and you can’t remember it after you close the game. Take that statement as you will.

  • Does it have replay value?

The game offers you multiple endings with a decent variety of side stuff for you to do. For me I played the game twice and I was done with it.

  • Does it run well?

It runs flawlessly. There is not much else to say. It’s a game that is not very demanding and I didn’t have any problems with it.

  • Is it fun?

If you like point and click games and you have an hour to kill. It’s fun enough.

Is this game worth my hard earned money?

It’s free. I would say that if you are curious about NSU it’s worth a try. It’s not a game that’s going to change your life or anything but I enjoyed it. Something that I really liked is that the only DLC that NSU has is just the OST. So, no weird monetization from the devs and I really liked that.

Rating: 6/10
Short but the story is decent and it’s also free.
