Hitman Review
The game Hitman is developed by IO Interactive and was released on 11 March 2016.

Gameplay:

You play as Agent 47, the ultimate assassin. The whole game is assassination- you will be assigned with an objective to kill people, and you will need to do it by any means. From the start of the mission, everything you do has to be planned- any wrong move will blow your disguise and you’ll be dead within seconds. So basically, you would need to pick your starting location, complete your objectives, and escape from the place. For entering restricted areas, you will need to kill different NPCs and use their clothes as a disguise. Every disguise can give you access to specific areas of the map. When you find your target, you will need to inspect the area and find a way to kill your target. You can do this in so many different ways- mixing poison in his/her drink, Using someone’s mobile phone to call your target at a lonely place and, surprising him/her with a bullet, anything you can think of.

The game provides true meaning to stealth games; this doesn’t mean the game is only limited to stealth- you can also go full combat mode and fight enemies using your weaponry but that’s not fun. You will find different types of items throughout the map which you can use to your advantage. Armed enemies drop their weapons when they die- but they might have non-suppressed weapons, so it is best to use your suppressed weapon to avoid detection. You can also dump dead bodies in containers and remove camera recordings if you want to work like a real assassin and leave no clue of your presence. There is also a feature called opportunities in the game- so basically listening to the conversation of some NPCs in the game will give you extra info, for example- if you listen to two NPCs talking about making a drink for your target, you can use their disguise to make a drink but- with poison. Finding an opportunity will show all the steps you need to do to kill your target, so they’re very useful when you’re stuck in a mission.

Graphics:

The graphics are perfectly detailed and everything looks realistic. The thing which I liked the most are the NPCs, tremendous work has been done on even small things. There might be some graphical bugs like an NPC sitting on air (haha, strange right?) but those moments are rare. A lot of places in the game are screenshot worthy. You will need a medium spec rig to run the game without any stutters. Overall I would say, the graphics will blow up your brain.

AI:

Straight to the point, the AI is dumb. Enemies might ignore dead bodies sometimes, and if you enter a container unnoticed, you are safe- the enemies will never check any containers. The AI needs a lot of improvement.

Contracts:

The contracts made by the game developers are called “escalation contracts” in which you will need to assassinate people and some requirements will be set. Users can also make contracts and compete with each other.

Pros & Cons:

Pros:
  • Great stealth mechanics and game.
  • Has replayability.
  • Great graphics.

Cons:
  • Bad AI.
  • The game is a little bit overpriced, making it not affordable for many players.

Extra Info:

Patient Zero: This is a DLC for the game which includes the second campaign. It has four new missions. You get it by default if you buy the GOTY version of the game (only that version is available to buy now).

Note: If you already own HITMAN 2, you can instead buy the HITMAN GOTY Legacy Pack which is a DLC for the game. The DLC includes all the missions in HITMAN 1 which you can play in the HITMAN 2 engine and you will also get remastered maps and other things for a cheap price.

Overall Rating:

The game has a short story, but every time you play the game you will find a new way to complete the objectives. Even with a short story, there’s a second campaign and contracts, so the game is worth your money.

Rating: 9/10 (only because of the AI)
