If you are here to get an idea of whether Trials Rising is better or worse than Trials Fusion, then I will dedicate a separate paragraph for you.

🎮Gameplay:
Foundation-
Developing a game for a typical player base always has a disadvantage from the start. You will get strict feedbacks and a low player base. Trials Rising is stuck in the same whirlpool. The game follows our old beloved Miniclip trials recipe. Throttle your way to the course, take high leaps from mountains, land on minacious platforms, perform death bending air rolls and finish the race with an explosive ending. Everything on just one race track! The core remains the same, cross the checkpoints and finish with the fastest time possible.

Variety-
Why should I play if all the races are just point A to point B with linear trajectory? If you may ask. Well, it’s a recipe with dissolved spices. You might not see them from above, but they do their job perfectly. Starting the game introduces you to a basic tutorial race with highlighted controls. But even in that basic course, you are racing against a train and jumping over it back and forth. Each level is something new and breathtaking. Even if I ignore the various types of obstacle creativity, the background scenery/stage variety can easily fill up a menu of a 5-star hotel. Farmside, concert, riverside, skyscraper, desert, film city, factory, space, laboratory are just pint of total track styles. But won’t it get boring doing the same fixed camera races? Well, to avoid that aspect, there are some 2D map races, some launch the driver races, or even fly your bike with nitro. It gets pretty crazy. They gave the same concentration to varied mechanics that I am gonna explain in the difficulty section.

Difficulty-
Now you got a hold of basic mechanics, and it’s quite a laid-back experience. Well, not for long. Once you unlock training courses, the difficulty value rises like a crypto coin after you sell it. Now you have to manage the throttle and leaning to perform various mechanics. Bunny hops are your enemy. Lean backward to spring your back wheel and make a jump by leaning forward. Trust me, this is a nightmare if you bought the game for a laid-back chill experience. Not only that, the game puts you into another test to master the rear-wheel bunny hop technique, which doesn’t require your front wheel to touch the ground at all! Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chill a bit. If you are thinking of avoiding these mechanics and just play with 2 buttons. Well, the higher your level gets, the higher the difficulty goes, and those mechanics become must-to perform.

PvP arrangement-
The idea of having ghost racers sounds good in theory, but the presence of Ubisoft kinda backfires it. It’s a Ubisoft game, which means fast working servers is a myth. This leads to a long loading time even though you are playing a single-player game (theoretically). This arrangement is perfect for people who want to challenge other players’ records or even personal records. But the waiting time is legit a*s. Most of the time, I was cancelling the retry option and just playing alone. Another problem occurs when some events want you to beat your personal best score for a loot box. Oh boy, trust me, this gets frustrating pretty quick. So I used to perform badly on the first try to beat the score easily in the retry race. Each bike has a unique trait, so nominating a “best bike” isn’t possible.

📝So which one is better? Trials Fusion or Trials Rising?
Both are from Ubisoft, which means both have bad servers and a hell lot of micro-transactions. If you are a newcomer, then you should probably start with Trials Fusion. Not because it’s perfect, but the fact it’s simple and a good first game experience. Of course, the graphics in Trials Rising are superior. That’s why I still have it installed. Fusion had available races in a list form, but in Rising, they are scattered across the map. Not a huge preferable difference, but player-based opinion. I will prefer Rising over Fusion because of the better graphics and online support.

📷Graphics:
When a game has simplistic mechanics, graphics work as the lead role. The creative ideas and inventive execution of tracks blew me away. There were explosions, laser fights, car crashes, demolitions, rocket launching and whatnot. Everything top-notch graphic development. 10/10 no complaints.

📝Main Pros and Cons:

Pros-
  • Enough content.
  • Skill based only.
  • PvP possible with ghost or private lobbies.
  • Community maps and level editor.
  • Quick checkpoints and amazing camera work.
  • Player and bike customizations.

Cons-
  • Microtransactions for customizations or lootboxes.
  • Navigating through open world map is confusing in initial hours.
  • Long loading times.
  • No ghost players from friendlist, only randoms.

🏷️Tips to new players:
I will suggest that you decrease your controller sensitivity as performing bunny hops is quite a hard task. Micro-transactions don’t help you in better performing, so just stick to the normal grind.

✉️Miscellaneous Information:
Track Central and Track Editor-
Community made maps you can subscribe to and play. Got inspired and want to make your own track? Head to the Track Editor section and share your creation with all the players.

Customizations-
You can customize your player’s gear and bike’s accessories with visuals. None of them are performance-based, and you can add a lot of stickers to them. The same goes for player gear. You can also equip some savage animations to tease your opponents after winning.

😇Honest Rating:
It should be a crime to play these games with out of the world expectations. The genre is simple, and they are still presenting top-notch creativity with the same set of thrill. I enjoyed my time with it. I mean, you don’t really have a choice coz there are barely any games of this genre meeting up the expectations. Buy on sale is preferable.
