🎮Storyline:
As the name suggests, the game showcases the story of WWII soldiers trying to survive the most deadliest conflict in the history of mankind. The whole game is set in iconic places where the WWII took place. You play as an US Army Private named Ronald “Red” Daniels of the 1st Infantry Division who takes part in the storming of Normandy Beach. Will you survive the heavy resistance of the Nazis or die as a bonafide hero? Play it to find out!
The main game-changer are the flawlessly designed cut-scenes. They emotionally connect you to the storyline and most importantly, the characters. In my opinion, the basic plot is well-written and it does contain some heart-breaking moments. However, the overall length is pretty short. You can easily finish the whole story in about 6 to 7 hours.

🎮Gameplay:
The Call Of Duty Franchise is known for the amount of chaos and guns-blazing approach each part has. But they tried to do something different with COD WWII. Yes, the gunplay is the same as any other call of duty game, but this time, it offers a mixture of stealth and good combat. Who thought that you will have to hide your identity and sneak into a German occupied building in a COD game? And with that, you have other missions in which you are controlling a tank and a fighter jet. And even some parts where you provide sniper cover for your allies. It contains almost everything you can think of while making an FPS game. It is pretty good if you look at it as an FPS. But what if you look at it as a World War game? I would still call it a banger, but some people might call it “historically inaccurate”. I personally do not have any problem with that, I had a lot of fun while playing it, and it is the only thing that matters.
Talking about the environment, Activision surely took it to the next level. When you are in a battlefield, you’d expect explosions, people screaming, gunshots and bloodshed everywhere. That’s exactly what you will find! Thanks to the marvellous sound design, the environment feels alive. The game has a huge arsenal of WWII weapons including shotguns, SMGs, and hell yea, even a FLAMETHROWER!!!! Nothing can be more badass than burning your enemies alive. COD gunfights in a nutshell; Enemies shooting at you from every possible angle. I mainly used any shotgun I could find and a MP40 during my gameplay, as getting ammo for them was a piece of cake.

Another thing which I was amazed to see, was that there isn’t any health regeneration (only in campaign). Instead, you have to manually heal yourself using a first-aid kit which you can find at random places throughout the map, or just request them from your allies. You can also ask for ammo, grenades or even ask your allies to spot the enemies which will show you the exact position of enemies that are in the battlefield at that moment. To be honest, I highly appreciate this system. At least it prevents people from just avoiding the enemies and sitting in a corner for five seconds to get their health back.

AI:
The AI is no different than any other Call of Duty game. The enemies will only shoot you, doesn’t matter if there are 20 other allies next to you. The enemies do act weird sometimes, but the game still manages to give a balanced experience to the players. Some parts are actually pretty hard, but after some tries you can easily do them. The most annoying part is actually the first objective you have to do in the game. I am pretty sure you are going to die at least 5-6 times before successfully completing it.

Multiplayer:
The game features a new way of interacting with other players. You can join “The Headquarters” mode where you can practice your shooting skills, watch other players open their loot boxes, or engage in 1v1 duels. The multiplayer is no different than any other COD; pick your loadout and start shooting the moment you spawn. However, due to the heavy price tag, the multiplayer is dead in many regions (on PC). If you are buying it for the multiplayer, please don’t even think of buying this. There are several better options available.

Zombies:
It is a co-op mode which you can play with up to three other friends. It has its own different story and a lot of other stuff which are not in the base campaign. Like other CODs which have Zombies mode, it is also a wave-clearance mode. I would only recommend playing this mode if you already have friends who own the game, please don’t buy the game solely for the Nazi Zombies mode, it’s not worth it.

📷Graphics:
The graphics are extremely realistic and you will have an eye-pleasing experience throughout the whole game. The textures are highly detailed, and the environment is perfect for a WWII game. It really feels like that there is a war going on, and you are a part of it due to the war-torn cities. And oh god, the explosions and lighting are top-notch, and I must say, you’ll find a ♥♥♥♥ ton of screenshot worthy moments throughout your run.
You can easily run the game smoothly without any stutters on mid rigs, but if you want to run it on max settings, you’ll need a good rig. I was having very low fps on max settings even though I have a pretty good rig. I did not face any bugs during my playthrough.

📝Main Pros and Cons:
Pros-
  • Decent gameplay with good gunplay and decent stealth mechanics.
  • Marvellous graphics.
  • Zombies mode available.
  • Amazing storyline.
  • Well designed cut-scenes.

Cons-
  • Dead multiplayer.
  • Performance issues on max settings on decent rigs.
  • Censored swastikas and other stuff.
  • Heavily overpriced.

✉️Miscellaneous Information:
Censorship -
The multiplayer and the Nazi zombies mode doesn’t contain swastikas as they are censored. You can also play as female characters in the game which is not historically accurate. I am pretty sure that you want a WWII game to show what actually happened, but hating on the game just because you can play as a female character is not a valid reason. But at the same time, COD World at War has nothing censored and is historically accurate. I personally did not have any problem with the censorship, however, if you don’t want censored swastikas you can always play COD WAW!

😇Honest Rating:
I truly loved playing the campaign and the zombies mode is also fun if you have friends to play with. But the multiplayer was the only way you would get your money’s worth and its dead, so only buy it during a sale.

Rating: 6/10
