Causa, Voices of the Dusk Review
Good things
This is a good card game. The tutorial is made into 5 episodes but I would like it to be even bigger to explain a few things I didn’t know at start. Don’t get me wrong tutorial teach you how to play and it shows you that this game is easy to play but hard to master. While there exists campaigns you can buy for a resources in game and play them I think the meat of the game is in player vs player and creating your own custom made deck. And oh boy there are so many cards to pick from and so many ways to build your deck. I had been playing using mostly Glory deck and while I was playing against other players I have seen many people and many decks and each deck was unique so I think you are only limited by your imagination and tactic. I myself tried out 5 different decks build with Glory deck and I know there are more combinations than that. You build a deck using 30 cards but there are 250 cards in the game right now and if I’m correct you can only have 2 identical cards so most of the time you will pick 15-20 cards you like to create a deck of 30 cards. Only once I have waited for 2 minutes for a pvp match but most times it is 2-15 seconds to find someone, also in right top corner you see “Player searching game” and that means that there are people that want to pvp so it is easy to just jump in. What is different that other cards games is that you don’t have to attack enemy cards you can attack enemy hp from the start and that gives you more tactical options because you must choose if you want to deal dmg to enemy hp or maybe destroy some of his strong cards. Also you can’t just spam cards as max you can have 4 characters cards and 4 support cards on the table so you have to pick what to play and when to use what support. There are also a ton of things to unlock like leaders, cards, card backs, backgrounds, banners, avatars and titles. Casual pvp is fun but there is also a grayed out “ranked” and that means some hardcore ranked pvp games will be added in the future and it shows that developers want to improve game in the future.

Bad things
To play you need to create an account and there is no option to just log in with your Steam account and I know that can be a deal breaker for some people. Also as the game is mostly focused on player vs player it can also be a deal breaker for some people.

Important things about the game
Tutorial teach you how to play but I think it should also explain many things that I had to learn by trial and error and these are the things I will point out here as they are important to get better in the game. There are resources like gold, organite and soul ember. You can use gold or organite to unlock campaigns and soul ember to craft cards. You also get card packs for doing campaigns. There are also daily and season quests that give you resources for doing them. There are 4 leaders to start with so 4 card decks – glory, wealth, influence, spirit but there are also neutral cards that can be used with any deck. It is important for you to learn what color means what deck so when you open packs of card you will know for what deck you got cards. While there are neutral cards and 4 main decks if you click on “collection” you will see that there are also 6 other decks that are a mix of 2 other colors/decks. So that mean there are many many ways to build your decks but you need the right leader for each deck. By playing you get xp for the deck type you are using and your total power level is all your levels in 4 deck types together.

Conclusion
Easy to play and hard to master. Get this game if you like card games and you can invest enough time to build a good deck and to learn how to be good.
