Ranking all the wrenches from worst to best
Here's a ranking of all of Engineer's wrenches from worst to best, based on stats and situations, from a Engineer main (which is me of course). Alright, now lets rank them

5.Eureka Effect
Even though it's defintley better after its changes in the meet your match update, it's still the least best wrench. Though that doesn't mean its bad, its just the last wrench you should ever consider using due to how the stats actually play out. Having a slower building speed really kills the flow of
building a strong defence before the enemy team comes out of spawn to reek havoc on your team. And the ability to teleport just with the wrench isn't as useful as you might think. Sure, it safes you, but not all the time, because an enemy can easily kill you in the taunt the wrench triggers to make the teleport successful, so therefore, it's still risky. But, the upside of teleports costing only 25 metel insted of 50, and only takes 200 metel to upgrade right to level 3, is a amazing upside, so my point being, rather then using this wrench the entire round, just use it to build a tele, and then switch to the jag for a super fast, ready to use level 3 tele. Oh right the damage vulnerbility, it does suck, so when parred with rescue ranger and wrangler, its damage is very bad, but otherwise its alright. All and all, its more of a handy helper, rather then a full support wrench. So be wise with how you use it.

4.Stock Wrench
Yes, its the wrench the game has you use when you install it. Its a very good melee with good damage, and basic building speed and repair rate. So...thats pretty much it. Why is it only number 4 you ask? Because the other options offer more to your success. The stock wrench is how ever, the best for repairing buildings. Other then that, not much else to say, other then its a very good weapon.

3.Southern Hosbitality
I know, its only upside is bleed for 5 seconds, but for killing spies, its very powerful, and should never be underestimated. Plus yes it has downsides, but lets be very real here, they're not downsidss at all, 20% fire vulnerbility, not damaging at all with your sentry and dispencer around. No random crits, your enemys bleed so, not hurtful in any way. So in then end, its a upgrade, to the stock wrench.

2.Gunslinger
Easily the most game changing weapon for the Engineer period. Its so darn good, and intersting. And plus remember, you're building a sentry gun and building, with your own hand. Anyways, its so good, its easily the best way to play combat Engineer. And the best wrench to attack the enemy's defence. So...what about defending with 125 hp and a level 3, insted of 150 and a mini...oh right. Yes, when on offence, the mini is the best choice. But when your defending, and your the only Engineer on your team, a mini won't help much. So level 3 is what you should be using at that point. But what about if you have a Engi on the team already building a level 3 to defend with. Then using a mini isn't gling to hurt. But as a solo engi, don't bother. Because remember, if you're the only engi, and a uber heavy, or a solo demo comes, and only have a mini sentry, you're pretty screwed. Not saying you can't use it if your the only engi, its just that, 95% of the time on defence, level 3 is obiously the norm. But everywhere else the gunslinger shines in.

1. Jag
But easily the most powerful wrench is the jag by far. Not only does it build fast, but it upgrades fast too. And because of that, rebuilding isn't as risky like the other wrenches. And while yes, downsides of 25% less damage, and 33% less damage to buildings seem bad, but they really aren't. But the 20% slower repair rate is a little bit bad for your buildings, but with the fast build speed, it's most of the time, negated. So that's why the Jag is the best wrench you can choose.

Was this info useful? Just remember no wrench is bad, its just that some are better then others. Keep your hard hats on, and keep relaxing.
