I am here today to inform everyone that we will take part in the greatest meme in the history of TF2Tags.

On April Fools weekend, when we have access to every text color, item type, etc. we will re-create a thread simulator. If you are unfamiliar with the concept of a Thread Simulator, there are many available on Youtube for reference. The idea is that people shitpost using a common topic, in our case Team Fortress 2. Avoiding the on-site drama, we will all shitpost in the style of Pony Thread Simulator, but with a TF2 Theme. The resulting chaos will be caught on video with a text-to-speech voice. This will not only serve as a great advertisement of the site, thereby spicing up the community, but it will also be visible from space (the rest of the internet). Our chance for eternal internet glory is upon us.

You guys know I usually keep things TF2-related, but I simply could not pass up this opportunity.

Alright, so Election Season is over.

Donald Trump will be the 45th president of the United States.

It hasn't even been a full 24 hours since they called him reaching the necessary 270 electoral votes to win, and right now:

• California wants to secede from the Union
  
  
• Estonia went full-out Civil War.
  
  
• 10 million people are attempting to immigrate to Canada

I will try to keep you posted as these developments continue.

There hasn't been any news in over a month, and I take full responsibility for this lack of content.

Earlier in the year I had to change group permissions involving the editting of posts due to some people getting out-of-hand with changing other's threads. Unfortunately there's no way to change this permission without also changing who can create threads.

I have undone those changes, since after the redistributing of the ranks in the group they have become unnecessary and also counter-productive; the less people able to post articles, the less articles you're going to end up seeing.

While at work with an unrelated matter I saw a notification for a Cards Against Humanity game, to which I joined shortly thereafter. After the game I became a little curious. "What happened while I was away", I asked myself.

A quick browse of the front page reminded me in mere moments as to why I, and many others, lost interest in the site. For those of you unfamiliar or simply need a refresher of the content hosted on the site, it can be broken down into four major categories. Category 1 - Nametag-worthy Submissions
Items in this category may be references or clever observations about an item's intended (or sometimes unintended) use in-game, and those looking to use an item and/or description tag on their items will likely search for these.

Category 2 - Humor Submissions
Sometimes called "Shitposts", these types of posts, while not always nametag-worthy, can still get a few laughs and, in low frequency, are beneficial for the community. These are not geared towards people strictly looking for item names, but are creative and sometimes insightful nonetheless. These can unintentionally create great re-names.

Category 3 - Shitpost Submissions
These are what people mean when they unironically say the term "Shitpost". These are unoriginal, uncreative, or just half-witted attempts at re-names. These do not necessarily include memes or in-jokes unless have either been done to death or unfunny and yes I understand humor is incredibly subjective but bear with me for a moment. They still count as submissions as their purpose, other than to troll or to be a waste of space, is as a use for a name tag or description tag. Historically done by Anons, but still pop up from time to time.


Category 4 - Twitter Posts
These are no longer submissions. These are merely the use of a representative item as a means to incite drama, conversate with users, or create their own personal blog on the site. These undoubtedly cannot be used as an item name, nor do they serve any real purpose that other media cannot already do. Posts such as these are the reason why people quit.
