As Sven Co-op 4.8 goes to rest upon the release of the Steam-version (Sven Co-op 5.0, or simply Sven Co-op 2, maybe..), we might expect elements from e.g. the Black Mesa remake to be fitted into the game, but this is just speculations on my part. It will be a nice upgrade to see the mod remodelled into its own game with the latest Source engine.
Sven Co-Op isn't moving to the Source engine, but rather a more flexible variation of good old GoldSrc - as a standalone game.
It will be free of charge, and contain all three singleplayer campaigns from HL, OP4 and BS, greatly improved for a better experience with more players than they were originally designed for.
Yes, you are correct. Forgive me for not taking into consideration servers which are not using this feature. It is just as Terran Ghost and you wrote - that there are certain servers which are using this feature while others are not. On servers where you cannot access the nightvision, nor the flashlight, the only other option I can think of to help you see better in the dark is to increase your brightness-level under your graphics settings.
