gossip - steel complains against warowl, and later gets banned due to iBP game throw
This group was inspired in part by the conflict stirred up by Steel over WarOwl's AWP tutorial video. Since the original conflict, Steel and several other players received permant bans from Valve for throwing matches.

A nice (and also comedic, yet pointed) youtube video by steel, with a PSA against match fixing. It was published (and likely created) during the 2017 Beyond The Summit CSGO tournament

After several years of intense growth in the CS community, warowl seems ready for a break, or at least a vacation. 2017-08-31 community discussion, with warowl response, of him venting on stream:

In mid 2017 the banned iBP players dazed, swag, azk, and steel were un-banned by esea and dreamhack tournament organizers (both of these TOs are owned by the same company). Several other TOs such as eleague and valve continue to uphold the bans.

Steel assembled his team Torqued, and the other ex-iBP players formed a team GX. Both of these teams are participating in esea-premier league (AKA MDL) during the fall of 2017.

After winning some initial matches, the motivation and practice of the GX team waned. On 2017-11-01 Dazed announced by a tweet that he was dropping out of pro(tier2) csgo.

Timeline by /u/redittors-are-trash on dazed's return and departure to pro CS:

timeline of dazed's downfall since being unbanned

7/24: "within 6-8 months, we should be competing like a top 5 team" (source).

8/29: "we've had offers from 3 professional orgs to replace their rosters" (source).

09/09: "I think me and AZK will probably be absolute top 10 NA players without a doubt" (source).

09/19: realizes they'll have to go straight into premier league, talks about getting owned on train and not knowing what to do (source).

10/10: falls to Steel's team in double overtime on train

10/31: loses 3rd straight match, talks shit about his team mates while going 8-18 with 37 ADR, tweets that he sucks now.

11/01: rage quits from competitive CS, makes excuses in vlog saying that brax just asked him to play and plays it off like he was never into it, as if we'd forget about everything he said over the last 2 months.

Room On Fire talent Jason "moses" Otool , noting how the ban may have actually benefited Dazed:

2018-05 discussion noting increasing depression with warowl, as interest in him and csgo declines. :(

https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/8gbhzi/warowl_is_suffering/

Note by /u/axuirs2

For the last few months now he's really been struggling. He's being screwed by youtube and csgo is killing him. the stress of work and getting worse at csgo is getting to him. he's streaming now, depressed as hell, no desire to play, sometimes just stopping in the middle of a round to put his head in his hands

he's so stressed out, poor guy. there was a post a while ago saying something similar, and hes only worse now. a pillar of the community might fall here :(

In a turn for the better, Steel and his team are role-models in 2020, as they diplomatically postpone their ESL Cologne 2020 North America match against Liquid circa 2020-08-27.

From their statement this was:
to give light to "the protests against this country's continued systemic racism and police brutality", referring to the events happening in the United States after Jacob Blake, a Black man, was shot seven times in the back by the police in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Circa 2020-08-31 Joshua "steel" Nissan officially stepped down from the team Chaos roster and departs pro CS:GO, transitioning to the new FPS game Valorant.

This is unfortunate given the positive changes in Steel's character in recent years, and the repeated success he has shown developing new talent into top-15 teams. However this is an understandable move, as Valve maintain their stance on lifetime bans.
