Borderlands Is Now Spyware
2K revised the terms of every game in the franchise, and it's draconian. Invasive data collection, the "you better not talk back or we'll ban and sue you" clause that has been trending lately, mandatory arbitration (There needs to be laws against this predatory practice.), and they now prohibit modding.

The YouTuber is mixing up 2K and Take Two.

Take-Two Interactive owns 2K. Any EULA's or other legal stances should be considered to be the same as they can change them with a drop of a hat.
As if Borderlands being in the hands of the Grease Lord Randy "I swear she was 18" Bitchford wasn't enough.
Now this shit, Again?

If I ever re-install Borderlands 2, I will be sure to use mods and cheat engine for the chest keys out of pure spite.

There's a guide on the community hub for reverting Borderlands 2 to an earlier version before the SHiT account update. The Nexus has jack shit for worthwhile mods but BLCMods has everything I ever wanted for this game.

I'm using mods that alter loot drops/vendors/slot machines, scale the entire game to level 1 (leveled health/damage mechanics don't belong in FPS), make all weapon/equipment types available from the start, improve running speed, and unlock the golden chest using eridium.

ty for this. i am gulty of being lazy and stupid. but i should care, the perfect conflict of interest between wanting to have my cake and eat it to. the bravado and laziness. the fly laying it shit. clicking to faceroll expecting security and yes yes yes wtfever attitude boofing hell and satan into my asshole just to dink around momentarily for mediocre distractions. its like the vampires rule of how you have to invite them in. well here we are. its dangerous to even think you can relax as such. how many zombie poxes am i carrying already ? who knows.

Just came across this review today (read the comments): https://steamcommunity.com/id/pin_cracker/recommended/1486920/
I am not sure if those are paid shills or just your average steam IQ, but damn... When you think you cannot lose any more faith in humanity...

Similarly, people seem to always be very hostile towards me when I mention ways to make it much more expensive for governmental agencies and corporations to data farm you.
Discussing segmented networks (VLANs), encrypted DNS (DoT, DoH, etc), end-to-end encryption and decentralized protocols such as Matrix always yield comments such as "I am just a normal guy, I have nothing to hide", "Take off your tin foil hat", "You are just paranoid".

It's 2025 and people still find it okay for all of those three letter agencies and corporations to spy on you 24/7. In fact, they make it much easier for them by not caring and attacking anyone who does.
What the fuck is wrong with people???

A bit of everything, paid agents and brainless people. Just focus on the positive side to not lose more faith.

There is a reason I have been a hermit both online and offline. The only "positive side" is hoping for world war 3 or a meteor strike at this point.

What they fail to realize is that an awful lot of 'normal guys with nothing to hide' got thrown into the gulags and camps too.
Innocence doesn't protect anyone from corruption or injustice.
Now add to the mix: modern tech w/ the ability for A.I. to create all sorts of fake images, video, audio, etc. which could be used for any number of nefarious purposes by govs, corporations, activist groups or individuals. :/

^ for sure. imagine the sabotage of someone coming up with suddenly your work laptop was compromised and it turned out you were a 'closet pedo' that spent countless hours downloading stuff at work. just for safety you are held aside while being investigated and your peers promoted while your life is suddenly engulfed with attempting to mitigate being an accused sex offender in increasingly classified requirement work environments just to manage all the ai bullshit itself.

I imagine a number of people have already experienced this scenario and similar ones.

There are some accusations that are so vile that the accused's reputation is harmed forever, even if that person is innocent and proves his/her innocence in court: pedo and rape are the main ones (i.e. "character assassination").

With that being said, I support severe punishment (castration or even death) for someone who *actually* commits either one, but false accusations are easy to throw around but difficult to disprove...

If anyone invests in stock, companies who investigate and uncover fake A.I. creations will be a goldmine in the coming decade. Buy now while it's cheap. ;)
