Skicraft through the ages - memories...

I started this thread mainly to let Skicraftians reminisce and discuss server experiences, but I don't see any reason to object general Skicraft banter.

To kick off the conversation:
While this may have come as a shock to many, and many will have been absent from the server for a long time, personally, I guess this was coming. Minecraft servers are amazingly greedy on computing power, as Tom said, and I guess it wasn't viable to keep it up any more.

Yeah, no one really came onto Skicraft any more, apart from the odd couple of players...I made sure that I checked in every now and then, but I just couldn't bring myself to play it, because it was boring online...no one to talk to and nothing to do :(

I usually checked the server from time to time, but I just cant find anything to do other than wander around randomly, and with no one online to talk to, it just became a waste of time to me.

All good things must come to an end. We had a good run, I think it was kind of Tom to put us out of our misery than keep us waiting to see if something was going to happen. I agree with you guys, the server had sort of lost its appeal.

But hey, we should be celebrating the good times we had on Skicraft! Getting ranked up to noble was huge for me, I had Tom and Raezion both congratulating me. One of the proudest moments of my Skicraft life :). Going up to Advisor was a bit more discreet :P

My Skicraft life didn't end well...bit of stupidity from me....and then demoting :( I still ended on a high though, making a huge town with Geo :D

It died the day i left it back in 2013 it was still going strong then but users kept dwindeling.
I came back 2014 but it wasnt the same anymore.
Before we had active users.
Now a couple of new ones during the holidays who stayed 2 days at most.
