AGOT Foreign Tour - Full
I've had a couple requests over the months for the Foreign Tour descriptions for AGOT's mechanic, so I'm posting the ones I wrote in full if anyone wants to read them. If you enjoy them, then you can find other stuff I've written here.
Volantis
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The captain calls out “Volantis’ in sight” drawing your attention to the city coming into view. You marvel at the sheer size of the Volantene harbor as your ship, The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥, sails into midst and berths at one of the wharves. While your captain ties off the ship, you pay for an palanquin and make your way down the pier and into Fishmonger’s Square. You see the Merchant’s House, and though you want to rest from your journey, you have an invitation from, King Fake Valyrians, so you urge the driver across the Long Bridge, where you see the incredible temple of the Lord of Light. You approach the massive Black Wall, rising high into the sky. A guard stops you when you reach the gate, and barks in his foreign tongue. Unsure of what he said, you present him your invitation. He looks it over then calls out and the gate opens.

Lys
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
You catch a hint of perfumed sweetness in the air as your ship, the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥, sails up to the dock of Lys. “We’ll be ready when you are.” The captain calls as you disembark and pass the high walls into the city. You walk past the Pillow Houses, where you are continuously beckoned inside by the beautiful men and women around you, their lips reddened, their purple and blue eyes popping against the accenting makeup, and their silver-gold hair styled in a great many of unique ways to meet, and exceed, the tastes of any visitor. You begin to feel yourself succumbing to the temptation, and you have an engagement with King Whoseits, so, tear yourself from the pleasure district towards the Magisters Conclave. Along the way, you pass through the Temple street, filled with the worship houses of all the Gods of the world, only a small few of which you’ve even heard of, before you finally reach the Conclave’s gate and present yourself.

Tyrosh
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
Your captain manages to get your ship, the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥, safely past the pirate hordes in the Stepstones and now the high walls of Tyrosh are in sit. “Friendly!” You hear someone yell from the Bleeding Tower as the captain maneuvers into the harbor and docks. You disembark and make your way into the city, as you do, you pass by a myriad of temples and worship houses to gods you never knew existed. Finding the familiar insignia of [YOUR PERSONAL SKY FAIRY HERE], you enter and say a pray of thanks for your safe deliverance from the pirates, then leave an offering before continuing toward the council house and your meeting with Blue Haired Beard Guy. Along the way, you see the masterwork crafts of the armorsmiths, grandly displayed in the shop windows. “If I have time, I may pick up something,” you think then pass by the Drunken fountain as you approach the gate, recessed in the black dragonstone, and wait to be announced.

Myr
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
Your captain sails into the Myrish harbor and docks the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥. As you disembark and enter the dockyard, you hear one of the Myrmen singing in the Common Tongue. “I loved a maid as fair as summer with sunlight in her hair. I loved a maid...” You remember the tune but, try as you might, can’t quite remember the lyrics, still you begin humming it as you enter the city walls. You find yourself on a blackstone road surrounded numerous artisan shops, some hawking carpets, some lens, and others fine textiles, all the shops have beautifully crafted glass windows. You don’t have to time to buy anything, so continue on. You come to grand artisanal constructs housing innumerable scholars and artists. You’re curiosity calls for you to take a peek but you fight it and head to the council house for your meeting with King Poseidon.

Pentos
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ sails into the Pentosi harbor, bathed in the shadow of the massive stone walls. As you enter, you notice that the walls and towers, Impressive as they are, are poorly manned. Inside the walls, you see a crowd of people surrounding a red temple as a red cloaked figure spouts off something in an unfamiliar tongue. You try to make out something but all you get is something about a drought and a Light, so you continue on. As you make your way down the main road, passing by many shops, a palanquin carried by six men, their beards elegantly twisted into twin braids, pushes past you, one of the guards shouts something at you in Common Valyrian and shoves you into the muck on the side of the street. You dust yourself off and hurry on towards the Prince’s Palace to join Prince Deadman’s feast.

Braavos
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The captain turns the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ towards the entrance to the harbor. As your ship approaches, the Titan spanning the entrance of the harbor, lets out a roaring blast that startles you, causing you to stumble backwards, which the captain chuckles at before steering the ship into the Canal of Heroes, and settling the ship on in Chequy Port. Unsure of your direction, you start to crisscross the various canals. One direction you find the Arsenal, though no one there is overly interested in helping, so you cross another. There you find a fish market and begin to grow frustrated. You turn back around and cross another ending up in front of a building with Black and White doors. Surprisingly there is no one around, which compounds your irritation. After crossing several more canals, green ones and black ones, with your rage long since boiled over, you find the Sealord’s palace to greet Sealord Iron Bank.

Lorath
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
“Hold on to something!” The captain shouts out over the storm. The churning waters violently heaving the boat left and right, stealing your footing and nearly dumping you overboard. You wrap your hand in the netting, saving yourself at the cost of pain as the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ fights into the Lorathi port. You begin to make your way into the city, but the beating rain sees the codders, tuskmen, whalers, and skinners closing down their shops. “Hopefully I’m have time to shop before we depart.” You think, then pull up your hood and carry on through the downpour. Along your way, you find a velvet shop still open and duck inside to escape the rain. “A MAN will keep the rain away from the velvet!” The Shopkeeper shouts, pushing you outside. You begin to argue but decide against it and continue on as the rain soaks you. Passing the overgrown remains of the famed labyrinth and entering the Council house to meet King A Man.

Qohor
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
You dismiss the captain with the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ at the Northern docks of Qohor, rent a palanquin, and travel the road inland. You first see the massive walls, all along them are soldiers outfitted in exquisite armor and armed with a long spear. Then enter the city gates and find the road lined with a great many merchants and hawkers, selling their wares from their wagons, beyond them are the merchant shops, some offering fine cuts of timber, others linens and fabrics, and more still are the woodworker shops, offering amulets and toys, expertly crafted from the best cuts of local wood. Further in the city, you find the armorsmiths, their forges churning out the mastercrafts of armor the city is famous for. And though you yearn for a set of the finest craft, you know you have other matters to attend to and urge your driver on to King Not-Appearing-in-this-Writing’s feast.

Norvos
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
A beset journey brings to you the gates of the city in the Hills of Norvos and cross the drawbridge into the city proper. You find yourself in a flooded marketplace, all around you are caravans from Pentos, Myr, Braavos, and Lorath, each peddling goods from their homelands or from the distance Dothraki Sea. As you hop from cart to cart, looking over the various goods, a large bell chimes across the city, sending Norvosi men, their faces clean shaven, save for kempt mustaches, and bald Norvosi women scurrying off in pairs. Unsure of what just happened, and with the peddlers packing up, you head for the for the great Temple of the Bearded Priests. You make your way up the Sinner’s Steps and into the temple-fortress for your meeting with The Great Bearded One, yearning for a taste of the local specialty, Nasha, at one of the drink houses afterwards.

New Ghis *Largely made up because there’s nothing to go on.
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The captain steers your ship, The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥, through the Ghiscari Straits and makes port in Harpy Harbor just as the sun begins to fade. You disembark and join the other new arrivals. Your few number head through the arching gateway, a small golden Harpy adorns the adjacent mud brick towers on each side. You follow the winding brown brick street through the city. On either side you see small pyramids, housing the Ghiscari merchants and noble families of the city. The torches above their doors, fresh and newly lit, cast their glow outwards, lighting the dark road. The city itself offers little in the way of architecture and art, as you travel through the streets, you find nothing to make note of, until you find the drillyards. More soldiers than you’ve ever seen all stand in formation, you stand, watching the drills but soon break away for your meeting with King Fallen Empire.

Astapor
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
As your Ship, The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥, sails into the Astapori docks, you see the great Red Pyramids rising high and dominating the horizon. A shimmer of golden light shines off of the Harpies atop each of them as you pass under the Gate, a massive gold Harpy with its wings spreads spanning the whole of the entrance, you enter the Plaza of Pride. All around you merchants and customers buzz, haggling and hawking, shouting over one another. You maneuver through the crowds and come to the fighting pits, shocked that as packed as the Plaza is, it is twice over here. In the pit closest to you, a dozen fighters clash with sword and shield, to the deafening roars of the crowd. You can’t help but join in the spectacle and begin cheering for a small scrappy fighter, though you’ve no real clue who it is. As several of the fighters are cut down, you remember your meeting with King of the Slavers and make way through the red dust caked streets.

Yunkai

The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ pulls into the Yunkish harbor, docking at one of the open wharves. You disembark and, joining with a great many other newcomers, make your way into the city, passing under the wings of a great golden Harpy. Inside the city, the streets are lined with yellow stone pyramid shop fronts. Each offering a variety of exotic goods from nearby craftsmen, some specializing in bronzework figures and statues. As you traverse the markets, you see the Great Yellow Pyramids in the distance, housing the local noble houses and topped with a golden Harpy, and begin making your way towards. When you get out of the markets, you enter the tavern district and the famed bedfellows of the city try and tempt you inside. Your steps slow as you consider it, but in the end refuse so you can meet with King Not-so-wise Master.

Meereen

The captain of your ship, The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥, sails into the mouth of the Skahazadhan and the Meereenese harbor, tying off the ship at one of the docks as you disembark. You see the Great Pyramid, its multicolored stones rising far above the horizon and dominating the skyline, as you pass the harpy head gate and enter the city. The streets of the city inside are abustle as merchants, customers, and travellers rush around, trying to get to their destinations. You get caught up in the hustle and run along with the crowd, ending up in the fighting pits. You watch on as a half dozen skilled fighters square off against twice their number of beasts, unknown to your eyes, much as you want to join the crowd, you have matters to attend with King Great
  • Master and continue on to the Great Pyramid, passing the Temple of Graces.

Elyria
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The captain sails the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ along the outer edge of the Sea of Sighs, avoiding the ravaged lands of Valyria and the worst of the Smoking Sea, as your ship sails into the Elyrian harbor. You eagerly step off the deck as the ship coasts to a stop. "The last intact remains of Old Valyria." You think to yourself as you look past the dockyard to the city itself. You enter the black stone walls through a dragonstone gate and find yourself amidst scores of Ghiscari merchants peddling wears along the ancient main road. You make your way along the blackstone road, passing by the hawkers. As you walk, you happen upon a Jewelery and step inside. The jeweler smiles, his auburn hair oiled and styled, and directs your attention to the display. As you look over the expertly cut stones you remember you have a meeting with King Not-Quite-Valyrian. So you thank the shopkeep and exit, promising to return. Past the inner wall is the ancient keep and as you enter, you can't help but admire it. Though not the largest, it was built of Dragonstone bricks and you can imagine the strength it'd take to overcome them.

Mantarys
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The captain argues with you, “No, no, no. Seven Hells no. I won’t go, that’s a city of Monsters, I won’t do it.” Your frustration grows and you bark at the captain, “That’s just rumors, so dock the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ already.” The captain smolders but finally relents and sails into the corroded docks. As you disembark, he throws you the tether and motions for you to tie off the ship, “I’ll be back after my meeting.” You breath as you tie of the boat, then head into the city. The blackstone streets are wrapped in a thin smoke, settling inside the walls from the burning ruins of Valyria. Each breath you take is heavy and hard as you make your way through the rather empty streets towards a burning light you assume is the keep. The few people you do meet are stunted, twisted, and malformed, and you try your best not to sneer or look on with disgust as you head to sup with King The-Hell-You-All-Still-Live-Here-For.

The Dothraki
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
You dismiss the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ on the banks of the Skahazadhan and pass from the civilized lands into the Dothraki Sea. It’s not long before you come across the Khal and his Khalasar, and after some strained attempts at conversing, and no small amount of gifts, you feel you’ve convinced them not to kill or enslave you. The Khal motions and a horse is brought out for you to ride, so you rise into the saddle and make your respects as the Khalasar continues its journey. Over the next few weeks you roam the Great Grass Sea with the Dothraki, observing their culture and joining their festivities. Each day you take meals of horse meat, blood sausage, and stews with them. Each night after the ride, you join them in drinking heavily from the skins filled with mare’s milk over the singing and dancing. You even accept a fight once, on an occasion when enough fermented mare’s milk is in your belly to overcome your senses, and duel with one of the Khal’s Bloodriders.

Vaes Dothrak
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
After weeks of riding the Great Grass Sea, you come to the two Bronze Horses of Vaes Dothrak. The Khal riding with you removes his sword and looks at you, saying something along the lines of ‘no swords in the city, so remove your blades’. You disarm as instructed, turning them over to the dosh khaleen. The Khalasar disperses through the city as you continue up the Godsway, the Mother of Mountains dominating the horizon, and enter the Western market. You flitter through the hastily constructed stalls, looking over the goods brought from the Free Cities. As you gradually make your way to the Eastern market, you come to a gathering of the Dothraki on the south bank of the Womb. In the open pit, you watch as a woman slowly devours a horse heart to the rhythmic chants of the crowd. You join in the cheering as she finishes, then continue into the market and spend the rest of the day looking over the eastern goods, chief among them, the strange striped beasts of the Jogos Nhai.

Lhazosh
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
You cross over the Skahazadhan and enter the city of Lhazosh, home of the Lhazareen and their Sheep God. You find it rather unassuming, filled with hastily put together wood buildings, innumerable pens holding the herds of sheep, and a plain hall at the center of the city. As you head into the city, you find the townsfolk rushing off , the local air filled with shouts and the panicked bleats of sheep, several of the huts are burning, lingering effects of a recent Dothraki raid. You follow, darting past the merchants passing through the sheeplands, and join the Lhazareen in throwing water to fight the flames and, while not overly successful with the huts all burning to the ground, the combined efforts manage to stymie and contain the fires. Your aid garners you favor and King Lamb invites you to dine in the hall with the people, which you accept.

Qarth
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The captain sails the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ into the Jade Gates before steering the ship into the Qartheen harbor and docking at one of the covered wharves, the bright sun reflects off the roof so you aren’t sure if it is red or bronze. You join the captain in disembarking before the captain ties off the ship. A rotund man approaches you, as you look over the grand harbor, and takes your hand, shaking it, “Welcome to Qarth, the Greatest City that ever was. I’m a representative of Prince Bureaucrat-Formerly-known-as-Prince. I can take you through the ceremony so you may enter the Hall of a Thousand Thrones, if you like?” You pull your hand free and try to politely dismiss his offer, but he insists. You manage to pawn him off on the captain and slip away towards the city. You skim over the strange wares, gathered from the farthest reaches, before entering an embellished gate in the first of the 3 massive walls. As you wind around the city, you come to the Temple of Memory and enter for a moment, and at the suggestion of the priest, offer a sacrifice. You continue on your way, as you come to the grey ruins of the House of the Undying, the representative finds you, “You do not want to go in there,” He smiles, "But if you'll follow me, we'll see to the ceremonies for your meeting with the Prince."

Faros
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The captain steers your ship, the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥, through the channel, sailing into a small harbor of a primitive city in the mouth of a river. “Must be Faros.” The captain calls to you, “I stick to the Essosi coast, so never been here before.” You nod politely then pass through the empty dirt paths, noting the walls and the buildings are built of random unshaped stones stacked on each other. You try several of the houses, but the crude doors are latched, no response to your calls, so you continue on. It isn't until you come to the city center that you finally see anyone. What must be the entire population of Faros have gathered around a giant stone Cow and chant in unison, the sound reminds you of an Auroch's mating call. You stare on from the fringes, bewitched by the rite, until the Cow moos and smoke billows forth from its mouth and the followers break from their observance and spread out through the city, returning to their day to day activities. Bewildered, you head into the Faros Hall to greet King Stone Cow.

As you pass through the empty dirt paths, you note that the walls, as well as the buildings within, are built of random unshaped stones stacked on top of one another, held together with ages old mortar. Yin
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ sails from the Jade Sea into the Yin Harbor, where the captain berths the ship at one of the docks. You leave the deck and are greeted by an explosion of vibrant azure banners, flags, and streamers lining the dockyard. As you follow the blue lined path into the city, you pass through a massive crowd of the locals packing the street so full, you feel closed in and ill at ease. You stand near a hand taller than the average Yi Ti so easily mark your path, though your movement more or less flows with them. So much so that you find yourself unable to break from the pack to visit the markets and see the local productions, especially the saffron, the scent of which fills the air of the city. Eventually the crowd passes the ancient golden Palace, its gold clad roof held up by age-old sun baked mud bricks, and you manage to make it inside for a welcoming feast with Emperor Blue Man Group.

Leng Ma
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
The Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ sails into the docks of Leng Ma. you notice an ill at ease look on the captain's face. "I've heard tales of this place, not too happy with foreigners," the captain blurts, "I think I'll stay with the ship." You dismiss the concern and approach the gates of the timber fortress. As you pass through the walls, you find them and their defenses to be formidable, despite the wood construction you feel they are a match for any stone castles built in recent memory. You travel through the sparse streets, lined with merchant shops crafted of wood with all the same care and skill as the city walls. You head inside one of the more elegant shops and the shopkeeper smiles and approaches. He draws your attention to the goods, mostly well crafted wooden amulets and figurines, but the only thing that jumps out is a crudely carved grey figure of an old man. As you reach for it, the proprietor stops you, "That's not for outsiders." He looks at you sternly, "If there's nothing, please leave." You nod, uneased by the sudden shift in tone, and head to meet with Empress Killer Mole People.

Asshai
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
Despite a bright morning sun cresting the mountains, the city remains partly cloaked as the captain maneuvers into the Ash and docks the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥. You disembark, stepping onto the pier to find the light around you is dull and dim, seeming to disappear into the veil and stones of the city itself. You pass from the pier into the city and despite being a port you don't find any fish vendors, with many of the shops dedicated to hawking imports of food and wares. Some of the vendors, you notice, are from [Capital], your home city. The few elite merchants of Asshai house their shops in the independent black stone buildings along the river and display fine works of jewelry, set with shaped dragonglass, blood rubies, and black diamonds, amber, and dragonglass crafts, ranging from arrows and blades to elegant chandeliers and other lighting fixtures. You peruse the various shops as you make your way through the streets, meeting few of the masked inhabitants of the city, and finally reach King Shadowbinder's Manor, where you are greeted by a number of black-cloaked and masked figures inviting you inside for the feast.

The Five Forts
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
You buy your way onto a Yi Ti supply train, lead by a force of the Yi Ti Emperor, headed to the North East. After a few weeks travel through the YiTish lands, you see high peaks of the Morns come over the horizon followed by the massive blackstone walls of the Five Forts, and it’s still half a day before you reach the gates. The train breaks up into five smaller groups and head to each of the Forts as you enter the closest. As you watch the soldiers training and drilling, you think about what a waste of supplies and manpower it is since you can’t imagine anyone or anything foolish enough to try and take on such an imposing structure. While you stare on, Commander Yi Ti approaches you, “We’re changing guard shortly, now’s your best chance to to see the top of the fort.” You eyes brighten at the offer and you eagerly accept. You and more than 100 soldiers pile onto the lift and rise the 1000 ft to the top. Your stomach flutters as you look out from the top of the world on the great grey wastes below, spreading even farther than you can see.

The Jogos Nhai
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
You run across an old man with a tall and pointed head. He is a Jogos Nhai and rides north at the head of a train of zorses, most loaded with various trade goods and essentials. After you pay a decent bribe he allows you to ride with him on one of the spare zorses. You ride for a week through the dry flat lands of the Jogos Plains before coming to your guide’s home village. As you ride into the center of the Jogos yurts, the pointed heads of all the villagers turn to you, many of them sneering at you, anger burning in their eyes. “My people aren’t very good with outsiders, but they know you are with me, just don’t start anything.” He says before leaving you, so you walk about the yurts. You join the nomads as they cross the plains, stopping to camp at water holes. As you travel with them the sneers begin to fade and some of the younger warriors even bring you on a foray to steal from one of the other clans. As a farewell, Jhat No Hats will Fit Me invites you to dine with [him].

The Bone Mountains
Originally posted by "Cody Collins":
After a fair amount of time travelling in the water starved Jogos Plains, you reach the northern Bone Mountains and the makings of a road. Several warriors wearing fur come upon you and escort you into the Bone Mountains to the gates of the black walls of Kayakayanaya before returning to the road. As you enter you see women patrolling the wall, rubies adorning their faces, which are turned down on you watching your movement with their bows in hand. Hundreds of plump men scurry about the streets inside the walls and lean women safeguard the passes. You move through the somewhat crowded roadways, peeking at the various stalls and shops as you go, finding little of note. You find yourself in the town square as you journey, where the Hyrkoon people have gathered around 100 young men. One of the boys, fair faced and toned, is removed from the line and you watch in horror, nearly screaming, as the others are disrobed and their male parts cut free with a fiery knife. A great feast follows the terrifying spectacle where you meet King No Balls Allowed.

The caravan spends week snaking through the dirt roads, until finally the caravan comes to the outskirts of Vaes Dothrak, covered in the shadow of the Mother. As you enter the Eastern market, the caravan leader presents the Dosh Khaleen with salt, silver, and seed. Then several of the Dosh Khaleen collect the various blades of your group before you split off and to look over the various stalls. As you gradually make your way to the Western market, you come to a pit on the south bank of the Womb. Some men, you’ve hard time placing them though are sure they aren’t Dothraki, have built a pyre and placed a Dothraki rider on top. “A Khal died in the city,” one of your caravan tells you. “They think bad luck follows those that touch the dead, so their slaves do the work.” You sit on the outside and watch the funeral before continuing onto the Western market and sampling the goods of the Free Cities.

You walk between the small stalls and the large merchant houses, sampling fragrant nuts, leaves, and seeds, eventually reaching the house a pepper merchant. You get a few peppercorns and pop them into your mouth. The marines look through your holds and ask the captain several questions but soon escort your ship into port. You are greeted by a great many beautiful pale flowers lining the outer wall of the city as you pass from the harbor, the dark brown or black plants pop the bright white of the petals, accenting the grounds perfectly.Their scents mingle and flood the air of the city with sweetness, bringing a pleasant smile to your face you look over the local merchandise, you decide on a piece of exotic fruit, some sort of citrus and slowly eat it, enjoying its acidic flavor and bursts of juices as you make your way to meet with Lord Magic Plants.

You approach the gate of the ages old Goldenheartwood walls, rising twice your height. When the light hits the beams they shine with the brilliance of the sun. As you pass into the city, you meet a winding stoneway, weaving through elegant stone and timber manses, until you finally reach the city’s central marketplace. In the midst of the bustling market, a blackstone statue rises above the crowd. You become enamoured by the statue, so different from any of the Gods, having 8 sets of teats and with a wine chalice in one hand, the other stretching upwards. “Amazing isn’t it?” A plumed guard says to you in accented common, “Tonight you can observe the moon ceremony, when the statue appears to be holding the moon and the town gathers in reverence, for now you have an appointment with Lord of Tits and Wine.” You nod and follow the guard.

But the Sun finally sets and you disembark from your ship and head inland. You stumble through the woodlands for some time, eventually falling upon a group of Naathi. They startle, shouting something in their native tongue, and flee into the hills, you follow them however, and come upon a village. As you walk through the streets, you sense their tension and notice they are giving you a wide road. You make your way around the village, looking over fine silks, though you can’t discern the colors in the torchlight, until one of the villagers finally approaches you and motions in an eating manner. You smile and agree, following to a large hut and are introduced to Lord Saturday Night Fever.

The Isle of Flies

A stench carries on the wind out over the water as the captain sails the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ towards the island. Your breath catches in your throat, gagging you as the ship draws ever closer to the island. The captain lays anchor and lowers the skiff, “Good luck in there.” You hear as you row towards the gray sand of the beach. As soon as your feet touch the sand you are swamped but a thousand thousand flies. You swat them away, futilely, as you make your way inland. The air grows heavy and you find yourself trudging through a wet bog, your boots sinking deep into the rank mud. Your skin begins to itch and burn wherever the muck touches. Despite the miserable trek you finally free yourself from the sludge and find an old stone keep in the middle of the clearing, smoke pouring from the top. A shade passes the edge of your sight “Maybe there is a beast” you think before a masked figure grabs you, forcing you to jump. The figure raises the mask saying, “I’m Lord of the Flies, welcome to my island. May I offer you something to eat?”

“I’ve no idea why you’d want to visit this place, pirates run the island,” the captain says, dropping a skiff from the side of the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ “Safer to put you on shore you go over land, the ship’ll be ready come sun up.” The captain and ship slowly disappear as you slap oars on the water until the bow meets the sand of the beach. You hop off and pull the skiff up on the shore and light a torch before finding an inland path through the dense woods. You stumble along the path, the torch light catching on small exposures of cut stone long ago abandoned to the surrounding growth. You continue on until the gentle rustle and flow of the sea rings out and you sea the black stone facade of a rundown fort in the distance, torches burning lighting up the structure. As you begin to approach, several men surround you, “Boss Blackbeard wants to see you.” You hedge but the men grab their swords, “No rejections,” then drags you by the arm to the grounds and to meet with the Boss.

“I donna know why you’ve such an urge to visit these forsaken shores.” The captain bemoans as the Sea ♥♥♥♥♥ pulls into the makeshift anchorage alongside a number of flagless ships. “You’re a fool if you trust these pirates.” The captain shouts. You nod and lower a skiff, heading to the beaches. As you make land, you pull the boat upshore and begin traveling along the beat amidst a crew from one of the other ships. You wind up in a market, filled with hastily constructed stalls. The numerous hawkers peddling wares taken from ships coming out of ports the world over. You look over the various goods, finding exotic timbers from Qohor, fine velvets from Pentos, and even black diamonds and dragonglass from Asshai. You don’t find anything interesting, so continue on into the slave market and an ongoing auction. You watch on as the pirates parade out gold eye captives from Naath and Olive skinned slaves from Ghis, raising more than a thousand dragons before a pirate calls to you, “Good day milord, I take it you are here to meet Lord Pirate King. I’ll show you to ‘em.”, you nod and follow him.
