So we don't have hundreds of posts repeating information that has been available for a long time already, I'll leave the steamgifts thread that is trying to track the information. Dark Souls, Deadpool, and Ultimate Alliance 1/2 are the only games that were newly available, everything else in this SG post as well as mentioned so far in this thread has been available on Amazon for years. Amazon has a long history of not taking games down once they're removed on other platforms and selling the games until they actually run out of stock.

A lot of games still have sources, and quite a few people have pending gifts for removals so there may be some delayed activations. There are also newly added users, private profiles going public, and a couple of mislabeled games mixed in here and there. As far as I'm aware, the glitch is currently over, and that means there's no longer a need for further discussion at this time. I'll be locking the thread because it seems to have just led to a discussion with no evidence backing it up, which just creates conflict and serves no purpose.

Just for reference, I did edit the post, I'm not sure if you took it that way or not from what you wrote but it wasn't someone else claiming to be me, I wanted to leave the actual relevant part of the conversation without leaving the nonsense behind for people to comment on unnecessarily (which had already started to happen inbetween deleting the other posts and making that edit).

I try to save bans for a last resort, but just know that if people do start to get banned for this behavior, primarily complaining about what other people post or getting completely off topic, which seems to happen every couple of weeks (if not more frequently), everyone involved will take the same hit, the initial person posting the off topic message along with everyone who replies to it. I always felt that having more people available to post relevant information was beneficial for the community, which is why the major threads are in the public forum and the group itself is visible to everyone rather than hidden behind membership requirements, and it's one of the primary reasons the group was created in the first place. I've always felt that starting to ban people for spam here and there would end up discouraging people from posting, which I would like to avoid, but if people feel that forum bans to discourage spam is the better choice, I can start doing that going forward.

Does your Dead Island Epidemic gift have a proper image on the gift, or is it the standard steam gift image? It seems that one of the subs had the game removed from the gift license, the others didn't.

That's very interesting to hear, seems like there is work happening behind the scenes over at Activision.

Maybe it's also due to Microsoft wanting to renew licences and relist some of the older more popular games? Will be interesting to watch and see what happens down the line.

I doubt it has anything to do with Activision because Valve has added the retired tag to a at least one hundred games in the last couple of days, they just seem to be fixing store pages for games that were already purchase disabled. Sometimes something goes wrong, though, like with what happened with TMNT just now.

It wasn't purchasable, it just had the tag properly applied and fixed an issue that was created when it was originally removed. There are still 3 or so other games that were banned upon removal that were not supposed to be so those may be fixed now that valve is fixing tags for removed games.

Removed games can generally become unrestricted only if the developer/publisher themselves get approved. Outright Games was verified as a whole some time after UglyDolls was removed, which caused it to gain trusted status along with every other game from the company.
