I've had a huge think, and have come up with a sort of mission statement for us. We are lost at the moment because the game has seemed to largely done away with events, which is what we've centered around for so long. I broke this down into three questions; Why do we still exist, how do we keep going, and what exactly are we anyway?

Why do we still exist?
=================

We made this clan to succeed in events. That was our goal, first and foremost in the beginning. As the game developed, that became less likely but not impossible. We fought tooth and nail for the victories we acquired, and I do not regret for a second the silver, bronze or even lack of trophies from past events. We earned these fairly; by participating, not juking the system.

The question I find myself facing lately is "Why do we still exist?". Why is QE still alive, why does it still thrive and now even start to expand? We believe in our own destiny. We believe that together, we can push boundaries and turn the game into something fun again. If everyone is enjoying themselves, then we have succeeded. We believe that we encompass some of the most skilled and veteran players in the game today. We believe in the community we have created and that it will thrive into the future because we will make it do so.

How do we keep going?

Once, we were one clan. Roughly 70 people, constantly in flux from users going dormant and being replaced by new ones. Very few of us have survived the life of the clan, and subsequently it has become something bigger than all of us. It is a great space-born behemoth we have grown from a mewling cub into something that encapsulates all of us. Recently, it has given birth to smaller clans that now orbit it like children, QC and QD, what started off as projects, even experiments, and now carry a life-force of their own. They have yet to discover their own identity and I was a fool to impose it. I realize now that they must grow organically or fail under the weight of over-expectation and inevitable disappointment. They must be allowed to discover their own destiny, just as QE did.

We are also joined by Xenosha, a kindred spirit with a similar history and with the same goals. They have recognizes us as a twin, a sort of Yang to QE's Ying. I see them as a sibling to QE, and I welcome them as an entity that not only brings so much into the war-band, but who can be relied upon to stand with us without hesitation.

We have turned from being a singular to a family, no longer just QE but now the Continuum. This is a special term, lost often in the nuances of language. It is an eternal continuation, a never ending cycle of existence. It is not just a name, but a declaration. It announces that we will never fade, never die, never retract into our own fold. We will endure and push ourselves into ever greater excellence and glory. It signals to our allies that we have grown to something greater than before, and tells our enemies that we have matured into something different, something never seen before.

What Are We, Anyway?
===================

We are the Continuum, and we are made of a great many parts that come together as a much larger hole. We are diplomats and artists. We are poets, leaders and warriors. We fight for different reasons; to liberate, to dominate, to kill. We teach the error of ways, the price for failure and that the honour of the Tenno is inviolate.

Many of our peers do not follow these tenants, they fight for profit, for lust for violence, for vengeance. They close their mind to the majesty of our calling and thus are lost.

The Continuum is a beacon of light for those lost in the dark, in the void. We represent something great, something stable and something honourable. We will be pressed but will not break. We will be praised but will be humble. We are honour, we are patience and wisdom. We are heroes and legends. I see the light in all of us, and encourage you all to see in each other. Every single person has greatness to achieve and great aspects of themselves to add to the Continuum.
