SFM IK Rig Finger Posing Lag
Okay. So, I'm starting to work with IK rigs for videos in SFM. However... whenever I make the fingers selectable (or any part that's not defaultibly selectable via the rig) and try to pose them, a MASSIVE lag happens while I move the fingers or other parts, dropping down to maybe 6 to 10 FPS. I don't understand why it'd be doing this, I usually get 100-200 FPS constant in the game, no matter what's going on. Video card is NVidia GeForce 550 ti, drivers fully updated. Any idea where this lag's coming from?

Aight. Thanks for the help. Valve really needs to fix it.

Oh, it's a little problem you can also experience in 3D softwares like Maya. Dunno where this comes from; try to grab and move one bone at once, and your FPS won't -normally- drop (I know it's longer this way, but it avoids that problem).

I always move bone by bone but it still always lags lol, only with fingers that is.

Yeah, same here. Any other ways around it?

Same problem here, but it only happens on one of my computers.

Im sure you already know this but if you dont, working with lighting disabled is quite important, performance wise, this might fix your lag problem, not that it did for me.

Try it again now, I think the new SFM update may have improved the performance of fingers under IK rigs.

I have the exact same issue even the update didn't help D:

Really O_o, the update fixed mine....

Yet to try with the update, but SFM itself does run even smoother now. Patch notes said somethin about enabling some kind of extra processor in most Nvidia cards. So i dunno.

Odd. Didn't seem to work for me. :<

There was a small update today, and I believe it fixed the problem. It did for me at least.

While SFM is faster now, it never fixed the finger lag for me.
Oh well...

I second Berry's statement. I guess I'll just have to deal with it.
