Falcon and Windows 10
So I had to reset my pc, was a mess. Anyway, are any of you using the falcon on windows 10? ..if so how did you go about getting it setup? Mine seems to be installed and detected but calibration through fgen is not working at all

I had the same issue as you, with calibration, on Windows 10 but then I realized I had forgotten to plug in the power and after doing that everything worked flawlessly.

I'm trying to get my (used, bought off ebay) Falcon working on a Windows 7 system. Every time I run the tutorial I see the red logo, but my attempts to calibrate (by pulling sphere all the way out and then back in, three times) do not seem to do anything. I tried using the FalconTest, and that shows that the motors are definitely working (hitting home makes them pull in the arms as far as they'll go), but the position sensors in FalconTest do not seem to register anything when I move the sphere around. What advice do people have? Should I attempt to re-install the drivers? Seems fishy.

(also I'm starting to suspect that the person who sold me this did not include the correct power adapter. The one I have looks pretty generic. It says it supplies 30V at 1000 mA; can anyone confirm if that is the correct amount of power that the Falcon requires?

Okay maybe the provided AC adapter is at least compatible, based on my reading of https://kyle.machul.is/2008/03/25/everything-i-know-about-the-novint-falcon-as-of-march-2008/

@pnkfelix did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue as you

No, I did not figure it out. I haven't had much time to investigate it though.

@pnkfelix - SOLVED IT - in my case my AC adapter was definitely dead as a doorstop. Figured this out by plugging in an AC adapter for an old Logitech Strike Force Feedback 3D joystick (similar but not quite enough amps/watts) and suddenly the Falcon worked perfectly. I have this arriving on Thursday:

https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-13-5-30-volt-1000ma-ac-adapter

Warning: Does not come with a plug. You have to select one and they cover the first one free.

https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-adaptaplug-k

I think this is the correct size. My measurements of the original Falcon AC adapter plug came out to about the 5.0mm outer diameter and 2.1mm inner diameter described here. I won't know for sure until Thursday when my AC adapter and K-plug arrive.

I will post here again later to let you know if this works.

@pnkfelix -- WORKS! The Radioshack Adapter with Plug K worked for me. The plug is a little bit too long and so it's a bit worryingly wobbly in the back of the Falcon (I forgot to measure the length, just the "girth" -- heh) but I don't care (maybe I can get a shorter same-diameter plug later). The bottom line is: Try replacing your AC adapter with this. It worked 100% for me.

**WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING**:

Keep your original Falcon adapter and look at it for this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarity_symbols

My Novint Falcon is Center-POSITIVE. When selecting a new AC adapter, you must make sure its plug is configured the same way. Otherwise you may FRY your Falcon. On the Adaptaplug-K, you simply attach the "TIP" marker to match the "+" on the plug.

Cheers. Hope you get yours working!!!

Thanks for posting this info, G5. I remember I had to replace my psu back when novint were still around, so, it wasn't a hard thing to do. So, it's nice to have this info on the post to refer back to!
