Broken Crescent Mod V2.3.2.2 - Now tested and working in Hotseat and Single Player modes.

I am pleased to announce that we are now supporting Broken Cresent in limited form. This software will run with a disc version of kingdoms in your disk drive.

KINDLY NOTE - YOU WILL NEED A COPY OF THE MTW KINGDOMS GAME ON CD ROM DISC TO RUN THIS MOD CURRENTLY - any game running off of the SEGA Directory requires this currently.

If you want the game to run in Hotseat and Online modes you will require a copy of MTWII game, kingdoms expansion and Patch 1.5 running on your harddrive outside of the 'Program Files' directory - see install instructions on the TW Forum link above.

I have installed a SECOND COPY of the game, to run this mod on, as I do not want if affecting my other mods and vanilla games, (The mod does load partly into the MedievalII Total War core files/mainfolder when patching it and therefore may affect the original version.) so a separate install is recommended to avoid any file corruption.

To download a SECOND COPY from Steam, simply rename your first copy temporarily as "SteamApps\Common\MedievalII Total War2", then create a folder at the new location 'C:/MedievalII Total War' and run 'verify game cache' by right clicking on the game name in the Steam game library and selection 'Local files/Verify Game Cache'.

Once you have a fully installed duplicate game, I recommend modding that version. You will then have two different Total War games installed - but bear in mind this takes up disk space; it also provides you with a modding 'fire wall' to protect your original game, so I recommend it.

WHEN DOWNLOADING THE BROKEN CRESCENT GAME FILES USE EXTREME CAUTION - you need to uncheck a box that will otherwise convert your browser permanantly to another brand. When you click on the 'install button' ensure you untick the box that does this.

Install the Mod to it's own mod folder 'MedievalII Total War\mods\broken_crescent_kingdoms"

Install Part 1 – Broken Crescent 2.3
Install Part 2
Install Part 3

Then patch it with V2.3.2 and V 2.3.2.2

All parts and patches are sequentially linked to the relevant installers on the page link I've posted above. When you download the installer you need to use these right away to download the content before the installer access expires. You wont see the files as these are downloaded to the SEGA sub-directories but the game will appear in the folder you set up once it is completed.

Opt for the desk top icon to use to start the game.

Requirements:

• Medieval 2 Total War + Kingdoms + Patch 1.5 - all installed outside Program Files directory (for the sake of your own peace)
  
  2. ~2.15 GB of free HD space for BC 2.3 installer + ~4 GB space of HD for BC 2.3 installation
  
  3. Installation path of BC 2.3 should be "M2TW/mods/Broken_Crescent_kingdoms" (no more, no less)! Installer automatically adds "/Broken_Crescent_kingdoms" to the path chosen by you, so watch out NOT to duplicate the sub-directory like so: "/mods/Broken_Crescent_kingdoms/broken_crescent_kingdoms"!
  
  2. Install steps:
  
  1. Start the installer
  2. Select your M2TW/mods folder (You will need to manually select the location)
  3. Follow the steps in the installer and install

I have figured out how to use BC without a disk! First, install all the parts to the medival 2 mod folder. Second, choose your least favorite kingdoms campaign, for example americas. Name it americas2. Now, rename the BC folder to americas. Finally, press play on medieval 2 and select americas. Thats it, have fun!

Ah, I think they recently updated the game for Steam, so it makes sense. I have to load an upgrade of the game.

TBM is an ongoing project. I usually update it when I make a significant change or there is a unit or units that I notice a problem with that I previously missed. In my view right now it is better than vanilla. But it is by no means done. You'll find updates on TWC first.
