I hope to see part 9 antagonist in the early chapters and would be fun if we couldn't guess him/her being a villain. JoJo villains need to have more roles than playing bad.
If it isn't obvious I am team Valentine lol.
I sort of liked Valentine's pacing until the end (especially near the end where he yielded), unfortunately the end contradicted with his morals. I honestly expected a plot twist where Valentine actually handing Saint's corpse over to someone with a clear determination. Maybe one would say it's the other way around, for me the plot twist would be their agreement because we are accustomed to opposing villains. Although pistol part was actually good, and seeing The World again has been a great surprise as well.
Valentine is already aware of Diego's personality (he wanted Manhattan island etc) he is a completely selfish person who would do anything just for his own good, he isn't a patriot like Valentine and Valentine himself underlines that he doesn't have any selfish intentions. Or maybe he thought Diego is such an arrogant man that he wouldn't let anyone damage his high rep, reluctantly ends up carrying things on as Valentine wanted and blah blah blah... I'm making up. It is so clear Johnny has always been better suited.
You are right, he is a distinctive character, and his chemistry with Johnny was perfect. I as well questioned "which side is Johnny on" and I wanted to believe Valentine in desperation. These are some reasons that made SBR one of the greatest parts imo.
Buut there is a plothole, at least from my view, you may or may not associate these scenes to Valentine's character. I just can't forget them.
