What the hell is Jojolion?

Im a fan of Jojo's and will stand until the day i die (or the day i become 30 or something and get married, have children then forget i ever enjoyed media) that Jojo's has the best universe and plot. However i can't wrap my head around what Jojolion is. The only place i can start to think of what's happening is its a different universe with same characters? I really have no clue and would like help understanding the 8th part of Jojo's.

No one understands JoJolion, don't worry about it.

Seriously tho, JoJolion takes place in the "Steel Ball Run" universe from Part 7. It uses the town of Morioh from Part 4 and the name of the protagonist of that part as well, but they are not the same town or person. It's like how Johnny Joestar isn't just Jonathan and Diego Brando isn't just Dio, if that makes sense.

Basically it's alternate universe Part 4 except the protagonist is a fusion between AU Jotaro and AU Josuke who has amnesia, Koichi is his girlfriend, Okuyasu has a terrible hairstyle and is a real jerk, Kira doesn't have his hand fetish and became a sailor, instead of a bunch of stand users the side characters are all part of the same family, the villains are AU Pillar Men even though the MAIN villain still hasn't been revealed yet and everything is very strange.

Araki said himself that he doesn't understand what he's creating so how we're supposed to understand it is anyone's guess.

Wow. Thanks for the help i think i get what it is now. Another universe which makes no sense when put into context. No, but seriously thanks for the help :D im guessing its one of those things where you just accept it and enjoy it for what it is.

Araki said in an interview about Eyes of Heaven, (don't remember which one sorry) that the Morioh in part 4 and 8 are "parallel worlds",completly different universes, and would never meet usually in the manga. The characters are paralled to the ones in the universe of parts 1-6, Josuke 8 || Josuke 4, Sailor Kira || Serial Killer Kira, and so on.

JoJolion is Hirohiko Araki's sandbox where he creates everything he wants.

Isn't that just JoJo as a whole though?
