Using RetroArch and Ice
Hi, just wanted to help people setup they'r Ice configs with RetroArch as emulator. Note the Retroarch can emulate more than I entered in the files, you add a new line, and find the emulator core in Retroarch/libretro/ folder and use that.

I'm using "RetroArch-20140105-Win64-MegaPack.zip" from http://www.libretro.com/index.php/downloads/

Some of the emulators requires bios files, these you have to acquire by your own, and place them in /Retroarch/system/ folder, example the PS1 emulator need some bios files.

I have my emulators and Ice in each own folder inside "C:\Emulators_and_Ice", if you have them other places you ofc need to change the paths in the "emulators.txt".

So heres my config files:.

console.txt http://pastebin.com/VayuhFct

emulators.txt http://pastebin.com/225d4wgf

PS, when adding unknown emulators to Ice, you will get an error when your trying to run Ice.py, it will add the games to Steam, but it don't fetches pictures, even for known emulators on http://consolegrid.com

You have 2 choices to "fix" it:
1, Manually specify a image directory, and then supply images to _all_ your games in to that system that isn't known in consolegrid.

2, disable the unknown system, ryn ice.py let it collect image for known games, and then enable the unknown system again.

To disable a system you can just put # in front of every line that has to that with that emulator.

Awesome, thanks for posting these. Mind if I put them on http://scottrice.github.io/Ice/emulators?

Gotta be done, not sure why people are using anything else for most emulators :D

Meris ofc not

I do get some error codes btw, dunno if it has with unknown consolegrid or something. But it works anyway.

It happens when I try add either Retroarch or Winua.. But it works..

@oleost Thanks for the heads up, I will add an issue for that on Github.

@oleost @Meris I get the same errors when addng what appear to be unrecognised consoles, see my separate discussion.

I also seem to get a cover art source error, is there an issue at the moment?

Yes, there's an issue as long as you add systems that are not on http://consolegrid.com/

You have 2 choices:
1, Manually specify a image directory, and then supply images to _all_ your games in to that system that isn't known in consolegrid.

2, disable the unknown system, ryn ice.py let it collect image for known games, and then enable the unknown system again.

To disable a system you can just put # in front of every line that has to that with that emulator.

I'm adding Super Nintendo games, although I changed the Nickname, would that be why?
CrispyXUX Feb 19, 2014 @ 1:00pm
OK, changes the nickname back to SNES and it works, but it also means my rom folder must be called "SNES" Will this be a configurable option at some point?

It also doesn't pick up artwork if the games region is in the file name, such as - (U), (J) or (E).

Is there a way to ignore this?
Meris Feb 19, 2014 @ 6:42pm
@CrispyXUK Not currently, though you bring up a good point. I just opened issues on github to change that.
CrispyXUX Feb 20, 2014 @ 3:36am
Which point was that? :D
Meris Mar 1, 2014 @ 1:42pm
Oh, sorry. You bring up a good point about how you cant change the nickname from what ConsoleGrid uses. That isn't great, and I opened a github issue to change this.

Is there a blog to know when there are updates?
