All I can say is...omg. Minecraft in VR is amazing! Seriously worth the time and effort it takes to get it working even if its only to play around in.

Nah the guide is for 1.7.10. Haven't even considered mods yet! I'm not sure i'd want to do a full minecraft playthrough with the Vive. it's probably doable but everything seems to take a bit longer. Probably just me being unfamiliar with the controls though. It's definately worth the time to do it. The scale (as with most things Vive) is incredible. Even standing one block high feels pretty high up! Might go and find a mountain later :)

Honestly I never could get into Minecraft but in VR I could see it being a completely different story.

It's great but have found the tracking glitchy in minecraft for some reason and don't really know why. It's a bit off putting.

I did find another guide on how to get it going with mods but haven't tried that yet as it means another full installation.

Edit: I put a space between the h of http in my downloadlink cause steam would always filter it. Just change it back when you copy it to your browser.

So i tried out Minecraft yesterday and have to say that its totally awesome. One of the best Games for the Vive so far.

After a few hours of trying i got it to work with the famous Life in the Woods Modpack. I had to change a few things because it wouldnt work if you just installed Life in the Woods.
So i made a rar file with all of my changes and share it here for those interested. Every Mod from the pack is in there with the exception of Optifine and Shaders cause these two dont work with the Vive Mod. All mods work without Minecraft crashing. But i played with it yesterday for 1 hour only. So there could be Mods that maybe dont work well with the Vive( Mods with Text for example). I will play more today and when someone finds a Mod that doesnt work well with the Vive it would be good if you let me know so i can take that one out if necessary. I will see that the rar file is up to date. :)

Installation:

1) Follow the steps here to install the Vive Mod (IMPORTANT: When you install the Vive Mod check the Box: Install with Forge) https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/4f5upo/minecraft_for_vive_in_vr_is_our_first_aaa_title/

2) Get the rar file here: h ttp:/en.file-upload.net/download-11577420/MinecraftViveModsMC1.7.10andForge10.13.4.1614.rar.html

3) Unpack the rar file to: .minecraft/mods

Nice! Do you get any tracking glitches at all? Like jitter? Weirdly when I get this, I only get it on certain games (Minecraft which is one of them) so I don't think its hardware as Space Pirate Trainer is fine. Wondering if i'm just dropping frames.

Whoa that's a lot of mods. Supposed you don't get FPS drops in VR. What's your PC specs Presidente? Post a screenshot with all those mods running.

Yeah you must have a good CPU because of java. I have a i7 980 Extreme (6 physical and 6 virtual Cores) overclocked @ 4 GHZ.

If you have a second computer or a root server you could run your minecraft world as a server. That helps alot cause your PC doesnt have to deal with generating chunks and shit. :P
But i dont know how many mods run on mp. But if you have jitters with minecraft/vive without mods that could be a good way to solve the problem.

Nice idea, hadn't considered running a server to shift off some processing.

Minecraft on Vive is pretty unplayable for me due to the weird jitter I get. No idea what causes it but it's as annoying as hell. I get a small jump every 5 or 10 seconds like a loss of tracking.

Anyone know of any gun mods that work with Vivecraft? I tryed some but the all point down, and most don't function. I have both forge options.

Is there a difference in the builds? I have both forge vivecraft versions, just couldn't find any mods for anything other then 1.7, and still can't find any working guns.

Some very cool mods got added to minecraft from 1.8.9 on (psi being one of my favorites) and lots of mods have updated to 1.10.2 also a ton of additions to minecraft core.
1.7.10 is still considered to be one of the stable builds for mods but so dated now that it is also stagnated

i may play with slightly more mods then the average person though lol

If you want to try modded 1.10 minecraft (sadly non vr)
https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/the-dave-stream-official-mod-pack
that is my modpack (use curse voice launcher to play it ideay and renember to give it more then 6gb ram, minecraft is a-hungry these days lol)
