Jack's Whiskey - A Fallout: New Vegas mod!
Hello everyone!

I really love Jack and he once said: "who would drink a whiskey called Jack?"
Well I would! And I even would do it if there was gunpowder in it! Or a stimpack! Or maybe even some coffee!

That's why I created Jack's Whiskey and will work on it in the future! So please, check it out and let me know what you think about it!

This mod sounds absolutely amazing! :))
I really do hope he adds this to his load order, it would be ridiculously funny to watch Jack get some whiskey and combine it with everything he can find.

I'm already working on adding more whiskey! And I plan (but I can't promise it!) to make it possible to first add gunpowder and then something like cateye and then something else! So you have it all in one bottle! (But be warned: there will be more and more debuffs... never mix stuff :P )

This mod its great but it is a bit unbalanced for example the overproof I feel as though you should get the 'crippled head' effect the one when everything is fuzzy and I don't understand how ingesting whiskey and stimpacks heals you because you inject the stims prehapes replace the stims with bitter drink or healing power and if some why you could make the drinker spontaneous combust while using the 'spiced' one and also how about all of the games vanilla drinks put together and before I forget liver failure.I know this 'list' is a large ask and to be honest I don't think you need to put in that much more time it could really benefit from some balancing and then its a very nice small mod but I really hope gopher sees this mod because well Jack would make good use of these.Nevertheless a good mod and better then any thing I could do.

Thank you so much for the feedback! It is really helpful. I have to admit: I didn't even think about using bitter drink instead of stimpacks. Definitly giving that a thought.
About the effects: The crippled head is a nice idea, I will try to add that. I felt that the Over-Proof is OP but was like: Let's balance that later... I'm sometimes very lazy!

Liver failure would be quite some work to do but if I find the time I will look into it. It would definitly add to the immersion.

And also I'm happy you like it.

I played through the Dam a short while ago with the new whiskey and , yeah, drinking 4 bottles of whiskey one of each should surely cause problems and I did not have and issues in combat that I should have had I was wearing the Elite Riot armour later and decided to attack mc carren and either the ncr needs better weapons or the whiskeys all taken at once made me near invincible with half decent Armour so yeah.A bit of balancing or some reason as to not drink all of them a once ,maybe get them to cancel out because all the buffs stacked giving me a stupid amout of DT , and your mod will improve IMO. I now realise I should have posted this on the nexus .Ah well.Oh and its been updated well now my shall never be completed jk.

I'm currently working on the balancing issues. I tested it for myself what happens if you drink all at once and I know that the problem exists. Thanks for pointing it out though.

I'm really giving a thought to implement a feature that gives you a massive debuff if you drink more than 2 or so whiskeys at the same time. Like a more and more blurry vision. But I'm really new to modding Bethesda games and I am just learning to do it.

But I am so happy that people actually provide feedback that helps me to improve the mod!

I happy to help and I just made sure I was killable in that state with 114 DT but nothing short of the damage of a fat mine will kill my test person however he was level 50 and was ridiculously over powered to begin with.But I want to kill my courier by making him have liver failure and a chem overdose so yeah this mod is being tracked and I think I already have it endorsed and good job may I ask what games you modded in the past sorry if I'm being nosey but I'm intrested because I find the GECK alien I should probably learn how to use it.i hope you liked my tangents because I seem to like going off on them.

I used to mod minecraft (basically writing Java). And if you are interested just check the mod page. I posted an update about what I plan for version 2.0.

This is my very first real "public" mod (the mc mods where for private servers) so all of this is a bit new for me. Like getting soo much feedback. But I think that is positive. So keep trying to break the mod :P


(But 114 DT?! WOW! Guys! Get the anti tank weapons. We have a problem. It's a courier!)

Yeah with out the whiskey it was 56.8 or something equaly as OP and thats whats happens when you have perks every level and can have every impant in the game by having high endurance.
And as for minecraft and java you might want to look at scripting using NVSE (but no too much for this mod becasue as you said on the mod page) buts thats a pure guess because I don't know how either of the coding language so take that with a grain of salt and from what I understand papyrus,skyrims coding language, is different to the one in the GECK so if you ever move on the modding skyrim keep that in mind.Sorry if I babble and go on and on.

No need to be sorry. I am pretty sure I will need to script if I want to implement some features. And I will use NVSE (isn't that more or less used by every mod :P ).
I am programming on a regular basis so that should not be too hard (famous last words!)

Ok well enjoy that coding if you find it to be enjoyable and you will of course have to say on the mod page that it requires NVSE becasue some strange people do not have it .

Prehapes I am wrong on a guess I have about a problem I have with the game but when you are poking around in the GECK can you do me a favour and look and see what ,if any, scripts there is for the radios and if there is a limit to the lenght of the song allowed to be played .
I am asking this because I replaced some of the games songs with others because The Rat pack(Frank Sinatra,Dean Martin and Sammy Davis JR in particular) are better suited to Vegas then Bloody Johnny guitar will ever be. There I go again with the tangents.You don't need to I just don't know where to look.

hey man, I don't mean to rain on your parade or anything, but I think he was making a joke. There is a wiskey called Jack Daniel's, so I think he was referencing to that. But I could be totally off

Its is good to begin with a plan in mind.I don't think there should be a buff for being sober because I think that that is where you start and you special changes about that but as for the others they look very good .However I could see conflicts with Dynavision with the colours and maybe a stage like at 1.5 if you change it to go above or you could change the vaules accordingly or something where you just cannot function you fall over constantly and eventually you die of either liver failure or toxic blood.maybe water would lower the 'alcohol count' in you blood.

I would like to know if this is going to be seperate because I could see people wanting one or the other but not both but I assume it will be because 'alcohol overhaul' and prehapes male the time corralate with the time in the game eg to get down 0.1 a ingame hour must past.Granted I have no experince with alcohol so maybe the way you have it set up is prefectly reasonable and I am just unaware but still " Tús maith leath na hoibre." A good start is half the battle.

@RepliedElf: That's why I "published" the sketch. To get feedback. I'm currently getting into scripting and stuff like that. After that I can say what is possible and what not.
